pain during sex

Hi! I have strep and I'm overdue. On top of that, I've been having burning pain during sex for a while now. I've been seeing my gynecologist, but they don't know where the pain is coming from. Now I'm worried they'll do a membrane sweep, which I know can be painful. I'm really anxious about it since sex already burns for me. So I'm also scared about the birth. Has anyone here experienced this?

    Yesss, we have it too! It doesn't make it any better whether I'm in labor (or even for a while after) - just the thought of having sex puts me off right now!

    We got tested for STIs, had everything checked out, but nothing came up. It's related to pregnancy hormones and possibly a vaginal infection!

    Most likely because it's all a bit drier over there Doesn't lube help?
    But regarding the speculum, that's really different from sex in terms of movements and where the gynecologist comes (cervix).

    Can't they test for a vaginal yeast infection? It's easy to find out if that's what it is, and also easy to treat. You can even get capsules for it over-the-counter at the drugstore/pharmacy nowadays. And it's safe to use during pregnancy without any harm or other negative effects....
