  1. Marlies #2

    Welcome!
I'm Marlies and I'm 24. My boyfriend is 30 and already has two boys from a previous relationship.

We're expecting our first together (his first planned child). So it's quite exciting!

    Hi Marlies,

That's nice! When did you stop the pill, if I may ask?
I stopped on January 16, 2016, and since yesterday I’ve had my first natural period. Now I’m hoping the next cycle won’t come!
    Nice to meet you!

Hi, I'm Gabrielle, 35, my husband is 32. After 3 miscarriages, we now have a good pregnancy. Welcome.

What a stupid comment! His first planned baby, yikes!
When he went to bed with a woman, he could expect a pregnancy.
Whether she said she was taking the pill or not. And that up to 2 times, what a laugh!
So with regard to this statement, you're still very young and I'd go crazy if you were to become the stepmother of my kids!!!
His first planned,.. Pfff, up your ass!
Also a bit ugly towards the 2 existing kids!

Why this reaction...?... My partner has exactly the same story as your partner, but out of respect for the existing children, he wouldn't say something like that!! My partner also did his thing, you can get pregnant from that!!

Hahaha Marnie, sorry but I had to laugh at your lovely response! I have to agree with you, it's not really an appropriate comment.
  6. marnie Guest #7

Yeah, sorry Nicole... I really think something like that can hurt! If you put it that way, you probably feel it that way too. And even though my stepkids can be dragons sometimes, mine are just as much!
Some things you never say, in my experience..
  7. nicole 1979 #8

I agree with you! I also have two, but I would never say things like that. There was just a time for me. I'm also divorced and have two kids with my ex, but I'll never regret it.

    Well explained, Marlies.
This is just a "forum," so think twice before making such remarks in your own circle... people might get a bad taste in their mouths.
    Just a tip.
    Good luck with getting pregnant.
  9. Snowy #10

I'm Snowy, 34, and I took a test yesterday... And I'm pregnant. I'm going to take another one tomorrow just to be sure, because I can't believe it. I stopped the pill on December 9, 2015, so it would've been really fast.
  10. Figaroa #11

@Snowy it's totally possible that you get pregnant quickly! Hope the second one is positive for you too.
  11. Snowy #12

The second test was also positive. My husband and I still find it all so surreal and exciting—it's our first pregnancy. And now I have to keep quiet for so long... with all the parties coming up.

    That's so lovely, Snowy! Congratulations!
  13. Figaroa #14

    Congratulations, Snowy.

    That's great, Snowy, congratulations!
Wishing you both lots of happiness together, and we'll surely hear how things go from here!
  15. Snowy #16

Thank you so much!! I'll keep you posted on how things are going. I'll give the GP a call tomorrow.

    Hi everyone,

After lurking on this forum for a while, I figured I’d finally start actively posting! I’m 27 (turning 28 next month). We’re slowly thinking about starting our first baby: I’m currently on my second-to-last pill pack (my period will come during the first week of the Easter holiday), and then I’ll take one more pack.

I’ve forgotten what my cycle was like before I started the pill, let alone being able to calculate anything concrete :-)

I’m a preschool teacher, so I’ll definitely have to stop working as soon as I test positive, since I already know I’m not immune to CMV and toxo.

Uhm.. what else can I say I hope to be able to vent here and, above all, have some cozy chats!

That's something that's quite common in Belgium, where they're more cautious about danger.
  18. * #19

Walking and the baby too, that's not something they test for in the Netherlands, Marlies.
  19. * #20

By the way, that's pretty bad..
But in Belgium they make it easier too.
Blood tests and visits to the gynecologist can also happen after half a year.

    Welcome, little one
