Diarrhea at the beginning of pregnancy is very normal, as is gaining weight. It's just like nausea and all the other ailments. No one really knows exactly where it comes from or why not everyone experiences it.
Make sure you drink enough and eat healthily. That way you'll get rid of it the fastest and notice it the least.
Gaining weight is also normal, but 2 kg is quite a lot (but not too much) in a short time. Are you eating a lot or holding onto water weight? -

I hold onto water weight anyway. The weird thing is that I'm actually eating less and paying attention to what I eat. Yeah, it's so strange that my symptoms are there one day and gone the next. One day constipation, the next diarrhea... weird stuff hormones do. -
vlinder86 #4
I had diarrhea on the first day, and constipation the day after.
Stay hydrated!
Those hormones, right!! -

they should really leave those things out haha -

Welcome to your pregnancy club. This will be the case for 9 months. If it's not one thing, then it's the other :-)
Don't make too much of it! Make sure you don't start eating too much less. Your body is used to a certain amount of food. If you start eating less now, you disrupt that balance (and that's not some hippie yoga story :angel
. It's better to eat healthier than to eat less -

Hi everyone, I'm just 5 weeks pregnant and have had diarrhea for the last 2-3 days, so I was wondering if this is normal... It usually happens after dinner. Then I immediately worry if this is supposed to happen in the early stages of pregnancy

You never know how your gut will react to your hormones. I had mild diarrhea one time and constipation the next day. So don't worry too much.
For diarrhea, I've been taking the same thing for years: warm milk with cinnamon!! (And maybe sugar or honey). It really works faster than a pill!! -

Ster, it's all part of the deal. I had it from the start. I didn't even know I was pregnant and already I was lying dehydrated in the hospital. Make sure you really drink enough! Grated apple with cinnamon helps a lot. And if not, toasted bread or crispbread! Good luck with it! -

Thank you all for your answers and tips! I’m just more worried because I lost my son two years ago at 36 weeks of pregnancy. After he was born, I nearly died myself—the bleeding wouldn’t stop, and I lost over four and a half liters of blood. They barely managed to save me. Now, after two years, we wanted to try again, and I’m pregnant again. I’m so happy, of course, but given what I went through, it’s also a bit scary. That’s why I’m more prone to worrying now. -

@ster,
you're very welcome, girl
how are you doing?
yes, we're slowly reaching the end here and can start counting down, but those last 2 months feel super long though
keep us updated on your pregnancy and enjoy it -

Hi Daphne, yes.. the last few steps are always the heaviest, right! You've waited so long and then you want them to finally come
I think you can't wait to finally hold him or her in your arms, right. Do you already know what it will be or is that still a surprise? I find it really exciting and nice for you guys!
I'm doing pretty well, though I have a lot of nausea but no throwing up or anything, and my energy is gone very quickly. I've barely done anything and then I'm completely exhausted, but I know all my energy is going towards the baby and the changes your body undergoes, so it's for a good cause hihi.
We're also thinking of something fun to tell our parents, brother and sister in a nice way, like a onesie with "Hooray, you're going to be grandparents" on it. On YouTube there are so many nice videos of how they tell their family in a fun way, it's really funny! We still need to think of something fun..
Hang in there, girl, and enjoy it as much as you can!

Hi Ster, yes, the last few steps are indeed heavy
but we just accept that... we've only known for about 4 months that we're pregnant ourselves, so waiting doesn't feel that long
I was already 3 months along before I found out. I never had real sickness like you did, and sometimes I think I missed out a bit by finding out so late, but on the other hand, I'm glad I didn't suffer
Only now I have pelvic pain, but I guess that's normal..
Hopefully, your symptoms pass quickly and you get more energy back.. but as you say, it's for a good cause. Once you have your little one in your arms, you'll forget all those symptoms and pains without even trying hihi..
We know what we're getting, of course! We're keeping it secret from the family, but here everyone can know
I know my family isn't really into it, so.. we're having a little girl, it's all very exciting. My boyfriend, who actually wanted a boy, is now over the moon with his girl and is showing off his future dad skills wherever he can
Maybe you could do something similar... If you have nice ultrasound pics, put them along with a few photos of the two of you in a PowerPoint or make a video and play it for your parents.. and at the end, have a slide saying "Would you like to be my grandma and grandpa?" Make a little story with photos of you two, and then at the end show the ultrasound(s). Just ask your parents for their opinion on the film or PowerPoint, and then at the end, they find out they're going to be grandparents
Think about it and let me know how it turned out, how you told them
and how they reacted, of course hihi, I'm curious...
Enjoy your pregnancy and the extra symptoms; they're gone before you know it. It's not pleasant, but we women gladly accept that for such a little miracle
Lots of love -

That's so lovely that you're having a girl! How is it possible that you didn't know you were pregnant for the first 3 months? Did you still get your period? Funny, so your pregnancy is indeed a bit shorter hihihi. Yes, the moment you can hold the little one in your arms, everything falls away from you, including all the pains you've had. I hope I get to that point too, that I can hold a little one in my arms in 8 months because last time it went completely wrong. It's still so early now, so I realize that anything can still happen, but we're trying to stay positive and handle it as best as we can. Next week is my first ultrasound, so exciting!!
That's also a nice idea of yours with the photos! We're still waiting to tell, but that's really, really hard, sometimes you almost get bored and then you have to swallow it again
Well, girl, strength to you all and especially to you with everything! Love, Ster -

Hi Ster,
just here’s my story
yes I always took my pill correctly every morning at the same time..
and got my period on the days it was supposed to.. and then continued with the pill keeping the normal rhythm he
never been sick no diarrhea and then suddenly in June suddenly no period and I am super regular can stick to the day hour and minute. so, friday 22/06 my boyfriend not I immediately told my boyfriend and saturday 23/06 still nothing 24/06 sunday nothing.. and started to get worried did I eventually monday 25/06 a test when my boyfriend was at work. and yes behold not within 1min a thick pink line I knew enough! my boyfriend told he was not feeling well.. called to get blood drawn since such a test can sometimes be wrong. i went wednesday 27/06 at 12pm to have blood drawn. and I assumed that my last period was the month before because then I had a bleeding so the doctors also assumed this and looked for an early pregnancy. they call me in the evening at 6pm with the words madam either are you much longer pregnant than you say, or do you have a mole. because your pregnancy hormone is already almost at 400,000 which is not possible for an early pregnancy this is the number for about 3 months. and we think more of a Mole a wrong cell arrangement since your history of an abortion at 16.. and then the chance that I could have children was super super small. so the doctor already made an appointment with the gynecologist on 29/06 directly at 8am.. I was completely out of my mind my boyfriend supported me very well unfortunately he couldn't go to the gynecologist because of meetings at work but he then called my best friend immediately and explained everything because I couldn't. she came with me and I come in to that man says he yes that mole don't be afraid of that comes only once in so many women so that chance is super small! and yes he took an internal ultrasound didn't dare to look and was just squeezing my friend's hand says he gynecologist suddenly madam I can tell you that you are exactly 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant! This is the heart the nuchal translucency is perfect legs arms feet hands and I just couldn't believe it started to cry like a little child one side very relieved that it wasn't the mole other side because this came so unexpectedly and my boyfriend and I didn't want kids at that moment because we had just been together for a year and wanted to finish our house... I immediately called my boyfriend and told him that he was going to be a dad that we were almost 3 months pregnant and he couldn't believe it was a bit curt with me until he saw me after work he grabbed me and said honey I don't want you to go to your uncle's evening mass (he died suddenly and wanted to give crosses and stuff) I want you to take it easy and not do something emotional in this state now and we are going today (because everything was perfect with the little one and we were allowed to tell the parents) to tell the parents this iike okay.. and my parents left saturday after the funeral to italy. we quickly copied 2 ultrasounds on pc and added text for the meters. and my guy who reacted poorly first told this to the grandparents and the meters like a proud father
he even cried tears of joy! every time he told it
and our house got a fast train everything in all fully finished
and he was happily showing off at work that he is going to be a dad..
so yes that's how you see the pill is not always safe he but yes.
we immediately told each other it's not because it's unplanned that it's not wanted! and our girl is now waiting for a warm spot in the family she is already being spoiled rotten! my boyfriend and I haven't been allowed to buy anything yet because we just got everything from clothes to room, park, stroller everything just..
nice but now we do want to buy something ourselves
well that was a long story
didn't really put it here so extensively anywhere
how is it going with your girl? exciting so that first ultrasound I'm super curious for you!! always stay positive think he girl! now you will probably get there and it remains a bad experience but you become stronger from it! and you can tell your little one later when he/she understands that he has a big brother he! and always keep telling about your son he was perfect ultimately baby and deserves a spot in the new one to get his/her life just like he will always be in your heart he will also go on in the new one his/her heart and you will also get a lot of satisfaction from it
and your little one will also find that very nice.
I myself had that abortion because I felt too young and I and my then current boyfriend broke up (he was there, at the abortion!) and have to say I have been very sorry about this and think about it often now it's been 6 years ago I had a star tattooed on my leg as a reminder of that little one! because it was ultimately a living little being was then just no 9 weeks pregnant! and still find my own selfish because I did that then. but have now been able to give it a place. my current boyfriend understood me completely when I told him this at the beginning of our relationship so I'm glad about that he took care of me like a princess and helped me give the grief a place.
let me know if you've had the first ultrasound he so exciting and nice all.. I'm rooting for a perfect pregnancy and that
