which multivitamin

Hi everyone

Just a quick question again

Which multivitamin is recommended and which brand?
This is new to me and it's our first baby...
I've been standing in the drugstore for ages but I'm a bit unsure
I notice I'm not getting enough veggies and fruit..
So I asked my midwife which one I should have, she offered me Davitamon for mamas but I don't see any at our local pharmacy.. yes, she asked around and showed me a jar (their own brand) with all the vitamins I need but it doesn't say 'pregnant' anywhere so I'm still doubting. Haven't had time to look into it myself yet since I'm still working full-time... I'll try again tomorrow and maybe also check at a pharmacy?

    Hi,

Yes, they do have Davitamon, but Kruidvat also has its own brand. It's a brown jar with green wrapping. It says "pregnant" on it. And according to my midwife, you can also get it at the pharmacy.

Hope I could help a little bit.

    Love,

Hey Dido, thanks for your reply.

Is that the green jar with folic acid and vitamin D? And is that enough for what a pregnant woman needs?

    Hi,

The ones with folic acid are just small pills, there are 120 in the pack. It also says folic acid on them. The other one is a mix of various vitamins and it says "pregnant" on it. Those pills are quite a bit bigger. Since I couldn't get rid of those, I've only been taking the folic acid ones.

    Hope I could help!

    Love,

I’d take mama complete + fish oil.
It really has everything the baby needs.
And the fish oil is good for the brain development too.
I’m taking this multivitamin for my baby in the womb.
With my other two daughters, I took Davitamon for pregnant women.

Hi! I bought the Davidamon Complete Mama yesterday and I'm starting with my first tablet now. I'm curious how I'll react to it, especially regarding nausea and stuff...

I have no experience with the fish oil yet, and I'm not sure whether to take it as a capsule or tablet, or what size it is. But I'll try this one first... I'll let you know. Thanks for your replies! Love,

Marike, the fish oil is already in there.
They’ve added fish oil to it.
Fish oil is good for the baby’s brain so it develops as well as possible.
Normally, you’d get those vitamins from eating fish. But since you don’t eat fish every day, or maybe never at all, this is still a good way to get it in
And the fish oil in this tablet is perfectly tailored to what your baby needs.
If you eat fish yourself, the concentration of vitamins might be too low for your baby.
That’s why it’s so nice that it’s all in one capsule.

    Hey Madelene

I looked into it a bit more regarding the fish oil and coincidentally, I picked up the pregnancy box from Ouders van Nu today, and coincidentally, there are 3 capsules included, so I'll definitely try it out. And if I like taking it... I'll buy a box of it.

    Thxx

    Super good, Marijke.
That gives your unborn baby a really good start

Me too, mama complete. After all, folic acid is already in there. So I didn't take a separate pill for that. Why would you actually get nauseous from a vitamin pill?

@ you all...as far as I'm concerned, no nasty orange. Really everything with vitamin or licorice/gums has orange flavor, it's really so nasty...
