green iced tea during pregnancy

Hi ladies, I have a question. Since I've been pregnant, I've been feeling nauseous from a lot of juices. I used to be able to handle very healthy, organic, pure kiwi juice during my other two pregnancies, but now it doesn't work—I get nauseous from it. I can manage green iced tea, though. Is that okay during pregnancy? Do you happen to know? I'd rather ask here than to my midwife I always skip Coca-Cola during my pregnancies, so I'm doing that again now. But I was just wondering about the iced tea. Greetings, Madelene

So for what I could find, this is how it’s described. On the Nutrition Center site, so they should know about it.

For pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding:
Pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding are advised not to consume caffeinated products, or to strongly limit their intake to less than 200 milligrams of caffeine per day. That equals max 1 cup of coffee per day. This takes into account average consumption from other sources of caffeine, like tea and soft drinks.

    Thanks mavanmi
    Clear.
Normally I drink organic juices from Alberthein – pure kiwi and organic pure orange juice.
    Especially during pregnancies.
But this baby doesn’t seem to appreciate it, hihi.
So yeah, I noticed that with green tea iced tea I didn’t have any nausea, hence my question.
    Thanks for looking into it
    I’ll check that out too.

Green iced tea can't really do any harm.. the caffeine content in green tea is so low that it doesn't cause any damage. So enjoy drinking it

Oh, what a relief Esra, thank you for your reassurance
I'm glad I can continue drinking it with a clear conscience

Green iced tea, can indeed do no harm.
Maybe just keep an eye on how much sugar you're taking in, but as Esra says, the caffeine is very low.

I mean, do you mean being careful with sugars because it could be harmful or less good for the baby? Or for my body during pregnancy?

For your body during pregnancy, and more in the sense of gaining weight quickly now, and 'over-saturating' your blood sugar levels.
If you're otherwise healthy, your body will regulate all that just fine. The fact is that some women simply gain weight quickly and, after a certain age, lose it less easily.

Oh okay, in that way. Good to know. I never really thought about it before. Thanks for your clear explanation I'll keep that in mind and pay attention. Greetings, Madelene

Glad to hear it was clear. You're absolutely right that it's about your own body and blood sugar levels. That quick weight gain can sometimes happen without you doing much about it. If you're unsure about your specific situation, just ask your midwife. They'll give you the best tailored advice.
