I think Sunny meant well, but of course everyone is free to decide what they want.
As for i or y, I know that the letter y has a higher 'vibration', which has to do with numerology. If you're not into that, it means nothing to you, of course, but letters aren't just some random thing, let alone a whole name. So trust your own feelings. :-)
A name is so important that I can totally understand why someone wants to test how a name sounds. With an ordinary name, that could cause problems later on during job interviews, or even influence what a teacher expects in terms of performance from a student. You can also avoid awkward combinations by asking for other people's opinions.
I once read on another forum that parents wanted to name their child Bente, with the last name Dikman. "Ben te dik, man" (Ben is too fat, man)... well, that's just not a handy combination.
When my daughter was born, I didn't immediately get the impression that a certain name did or didn't suit her. Luckily, we had already chosen a name, so I didn't have to keep doubting anymore. Not everyone makes decisions based on feelings.
As for the Y, I indeed know nothing about numerology, but I do know that everyone is giving that letter right now, and that I find less appealing.
Yeah, what you're saying is definitely something to think about! And it's a shame that names nowadays are often just a trend and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. My daughter also has a name with a 'y', but it's not a super common name, and I came up with it for her nine years ago.
But when it comes to this name, I think it looks more elegant with an 'i', because with a 'y' it feels a bit less "chic" to me.
Look here, I have something for you hihi
Yes, with my sisters-in-law they suddenly started using y for everything, so I won't do that. But now I've got another name, haha, I think Violetta is sooooo beautiful.
Dilara is, I think, a Turkish name and it's on the rise. I've come across the name several times on baby-name sites.
I think Violetta Olivine is a nice alternative. Especially Olivine sounds exciting, but I wonder if it doesn't just mean Olijfje, and that's too much Popeye for me.
