Pain medication

Hi ladies,

I have a question. I’ve recently found out I’m pregnant, but before that, I used to take a lot of painkillers because of stiff and very painful muscles.

I used to take Zaldiar 3x per day (tramadol 37.5 mg / paracetamol 325 mg),
and as needed, diclofenac 50 mg,
plus paracetamol 500 mg (2 tablets) twice a day.

Due to the pregnancy, I was advised to stop all of this immediately and am now only allowed to take paracetamol as needed.
I can only call my GP if I really can’t cope anymore.

Are there any ladies who took painkillers during pregnancy and had any effects (good or bad)?

    Congratulations on your pregnancy
I had to take tramadol 50 from week 5 to week 10. Luckily it was short, but long enough
There’s actually not enough known yet about what this does. At week 8 I had surgery, so my little one was also under anesthesia Luckily my baby is completely healthy though. Born at 37 weeks, but whether that’s a result of it...

Sandra, I understand your doubt. I also took Zaldiar and spoke to my midwife about it. She said that the risks with short-term use in early pregnancy are very small. The baby is probably fine. Feel free to ask your midwife or the health center what feels like the right decision for you. Sometimes just calling for a chat can bring some peace of mind.
