9 weeks

Hi

I had my first ultrasound today.
The midwife wanted to do the scan very quickly and the intake conversation would take place next time. She measured that the fetus is now about 12 cm at 9 weeks. In my opinion, that can't be right until you're 14 or 15 weeks pregnant? I don't get it because my daughter was 11.6 cm at 12 weeks.

Where is the mistake here? It seems impossible to me that I'm only 9 weeks pregnant now.

My baby measured 2.25 cm at 9 weeks.
Now at 11 weeks, it's around 5 cm.

Wow, that does sound weird..at 9 weeks it should only be about 3 cm. If you already knew that couldn't be right, did you tell your midwife right away? Seems really strange that she gave you 12 cm at 9 weeks. Maybe call the midwife again to get some clarity..

It only occurred to me later, I had a full bladder.

Did she literally say that, or is it on your ultrasound?
The measurements on the ultrasound aren't exact measurements of the baby but are related to the ultrasound device itself...

She said your baby is 12 cm and the other one is 10 cm. I’m going to call tomorrow and ask for an explanation. Weird, really, because there are no other measurements listed.

Yeah, the best thing to do is give them a quick call.. Let me know if you do? I've also become curious

I called, and here's the thing: my first period date was June 4th, but July 4th was also just one day, and they made a wrong measurement. So I'm 15 weeks instead of 9. Earlier delivery, so # surprised

    Great that you have clarity!!

Hahaha that's quite a big difference! Be happy, you're moving right along to the second trimester now. Nice that you came by to let us know. I'd say congratulations!
