Already had 3 miscarriages, should I ask for help now?

First of all, lots of strength!
I myself had 4 miscarriages and am now almost 29 weeks pregnant.
I don't know what they've already tried or tested for you? I had already tried Utrogestan and Asaflow. After the 3rd time, I had genetic testing and a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy to see if I had a septum.
Eventually, after the 4th time, I ended up with a hematologist in Ghent. I was allowed to get pregnant again and he would then immediately administer Baxters with immunoglobulins. Whether it works is not proven, but it's certainly not harmful and he gives a success rate of 80%...
Since I read Genk, I assume you're from Belgium. Of course, Ghent might be a bit of a drive for you.
If it's purely rejection that your body is doing, then IVF probably won't help either. Your body still has to accept it. Those Baxters prevent the rejection.
I hope my words help you.

thank you for your message, poesh!
it's so nice to hear that you're having a good pregnancy now!
congratulations from the bottom of my heart! this gives me hope again.
because of the curettage, I got infections and as a result, my fallopian tubes were damaged.
that's why it didn't work out last time, BBZ. Now they still don't know where the problem is, so it's still uncertain whether the right fallopian tube is working properly. I'm originally from NL - Maastricht. But after some research, we found out that Genk is probably the best hospital nearby that specializes in this.
Did you have to take all that orally or did they also have to insert something for you? I don't know much about it yet, hence my post here.

    xxxxx

No problem at all, feel free to ask as many questions as you want. I received so much support on this forum back in the day that I now really enjoy giving the same support to people who, unfortunately, have ended up in the same boat.

Okay, you're from the Netherlands; I know they tend to try things sooner here in Belgium.

Asaflow and Utrogestan were pills to swallow daily. Utrogestan is also available as vaginal tablets.

As for Baxters, well, that meant spending about 2 hours in the hospital every 3 weeks.

Ghent is still doable from the Netherlands, I think. But given your situation, it might indeed be better to come to a fertility center in Belgium rather than just coming for the Baxters. IVF could help you, I mean, don't get me wrong.

But with me, they couldn't find a reason why I kept having miscarriages. I was fully tested. Then they're just guessing, and it becomes a case of the body rejecting the pregnancy. And that's the reason why IVF and other treatments don't always work, because the body rejects the embryo. That was the explanation I got.

I hope I'm explaining this somewhat clearly

Feel free to ask your questions; I'll answer as much as I can.

I'm so happy with your explanation, Poesh, thank you! I'm also getting more involved now and looking up a lot. Enzo called VGZ yesterday, and luckily they have a contract with Genk, so I'd get 3 IVF or ICSI attempts covered. With my baby last year, I also had a laparoscopy, and I hope it won't be necessary this time. I'm really scared of what else might happen. They think it's really about the fallopian tubes here at the ZH. That's why we want to try IVF so it's placed directly into the uterus. I do read a lot of good things about Gent, but it's 2 hours' drive for us, and I don't know how often you'd have to go and if that's doable. Anyway, we'll only request a consultation once I'm fully healthy again, but I want to gather as much info as possible and see what would be the best thing to do and where. I want to thank you again for your reply, dear Poesh. I'm really glad you took the trouble to answer me xxx
