Pregnant or not?!

Hi!
I have a question, maybe the ladies with experience recognize this or someone can give me tips.
Last time I got my period 5 days early, much lighter flow and no symptoms like stomach pain etc.
It all lasted 3 days with a little bit of spotting and then suddenly it stopped. After that, one more day of rusty discharge and that was it.
Now it's been a week and I have a nagging feeling low in my belly.
Feels a bit like a period. This morning I took a test that gave a heeeely faint line, then I took another slightly more expensive test and that was negative.
My girlfriend who was with me (didn't know about this) said, "Wow, hold on, do you have so much fluid retention that you have such swollen ankles?"

Does anyone recognize this? I'm not sure what to do right now.
I definitely want to test again early tomorrow morning just to be sure.

Well, you really don’t get swollen ankles from a “pregnancy” if you had your period just a week ago.. That pregnancy fluid doesn’t show up until after a few months.. Maybe it was an implantation bleed instead of your period, but the only thing you can do is be patient until your next period or until you get a positive test..

It did seem pretty weird to me that I had swollen ankles because of that. I always get them when I'm on my period, but whatever.
If my period still has to come, it should have been 2 days ago.
But I'm really bothered by the fact that this morning I saw a faint line on the test, and the one I took a few hours later was negative.

    Hi Bernice,

You mentioned yourself that one test showed a faint line! I think you're pregnant, really :-)
With the more expensive tests, it might be that you need a bit more hCG for them to show positive, which is why that one was negative. I'd take another test tomorrow, just use the one from the Action—they're cheap and reliable!

    Hi Pien,

I just bought a test from Kruidvat. I read that they're very reliable. I'm going to take another test first thing tomorrow morning, and hopefully, it'll give us some clarity.

Yeah, I don’t find the ones from Kruidvat nice either. I use the ones from Action myself, 2 for 1.50, and that’s always been correct so far.

Gotta work right now, so I'll distract myself for a bit. Tomorrow morning I'm going to take a test! Let me know.

    Greetings

Using first morning urine is the best, and a line is a line...

Tested again this morning and unfortunately, negative.

Oh, you don't mean that, that's weird. When is your due date?

hi pien, i had that last saturday and still have a nagging stomach ache now that radiates into my groin. guess i'll just wait and see? maybe the bleeding last week was actually my period and my stomach is just a bit upset now?

I'm pregnant with my third baby, and I have to be honest: with my second pregnancy, I had symptoms right away, even before testing, so I consciously paid attention to them when I was trying for my third. I'd been trying to get pregnant for a while, so I didn't dare test anymore, but then it happened. Surprisingly, I had absolutely no symptoms that could have pointed to pregnancy. The only thing that happened was that my period was late, and since I'm very regular, that lit up a little light in my head to take a test. But I still didn't dare because I felt nothing. After 4 days late, I finally tested, and it was clearly positive. So there isn't always a pattern to follow; you don't always have to feel something in your body. The month I didn't expect to be pregnant because I had no symptoms turned out to be the month I was pregnant after all. I hope you're pregnant! Greetings, Madelene

The weird thing is that this nagging abdominal pain just won't go away. Normally, after my period, the pain subsides and I don't have any issues anymore.
Now, a week after the miscarriage, I still have that nagging feeling low in my abdomen, especially around the ovaries.
I always get a few pimples, and those usually go away afterwards, but these keep coming back.
Anyway, the tests are negative, so I don't really expect anything anymore, but it's still on my mind.

    Hi Bernice,

Pregnancy tests don't always give you certainty either!! My period always came very regularly. When I was a few days late, I took a pregnancy test... it was negative. Then I waited a little longer, because I thought my period might just be a bit later, which can happen. 1.5 weeks later I took another test, again negative. Since I didn't notice anything else from my body, I was convinced I wasn't pregnant. Until one day I was at the gynecologist for a check-up (since missing your period can have other causes) and heard that I was already 3.5 months pregnant... I think the best thing to do is to get tested by your GP if you want to be sure. I bought the tests myself at Kruidvat, their store brand.

I tested with the Etos test during this pregnancy.
Just super, after 1 minute already 2 thick blue lines.
    Quick answer and clear.
    And just from Etos.
And I didn't test in the morning
but in the evening, so that doesn't matter either.
I got a positive result right away.
    Nothing like faint lines.
But I did test on day 34 of my cycle.
I hope for clear answers soon for you, Bernice

It's possible that implantation happened later, which would explain why the test only turned positive later on.

Hi ladies! It's been a month now. Last month was a false alarm, but this month we're lucky! I'm pregnant

Thank you all! Now the crucial months are coming, of course, but we're so happy and can't wait to tell everyone!
