What do you think of the name Billy for a boy? And should it be spelled with a y or with ie?

Not my taste. I wouldn't choose it.

Not cool: the kid will grow up and still have a baby name. Billie is actually English for "Willem."

The chance that he'll be teased in an English-speaking country when he's an adult.

Just to clarify: Bill, the adult version of Billy, is a diminutive of the name William.

An Englishman or Irishman will therefore always officially be called William (Willem/Wilhelmus) or at least Bill (Wil), but never Billy.

I would never have chosen that name myself. More like Terry or something.
