Brown discharge didn't come through, but I'm overdue and still negative.

Hi everyone,
I was supposed to get my period on August 2nd. A few days before, I had some brown discharge, which for me is a sign that my period is coming. On my expected period day, I also wiped very little light pink blood. I thought my period would start. But it didn't. My brown discharge also stopped. I'm now 3 days late, but the tests are negative.
Has anyone else experienced this?
And who else was late with a negative test?
