Hi everyone,

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby, a boy

We're debating whether to give our son an Arabic, English, or Dutch name. My partner is Turkish and I'm Dutch (though I have a foreign-sounding name).

We're considering these names:

Arabic English Dutch
1. Adil 1. Aayden 1. Boaz
2. Sahid 2. Stanley 2. Levi

We'd love to hear your thoughts...

    Adil or Boaz, really nice!

Personally, I like Dutch names the most. So I’d go for Boaz.

I thought Aayden and Jayden were cute names, until everyone started naming their kids that or a variation of it... I like Boaz from your list.. My boyfriend wants to name our child after his grandfather, Johannes, so I suggested Joas (English pronunciation).. Super cute.. I think... he doesn't... meh.....

I guess you'll have to figure it out together.. I think it's quite a big decision haha, you're deciding for the rest of someone's life what they're going to be called..... You naturally don't want your child to get bullied or anything... anyway.. to make a long story short..

    Boaz or maybe Joas, Joaz...

Boaz with indeed a possible Turkish second name. Boaz Adil sounds great.

I wish you all the strength!

Keep yourself busy with your friend.

No, that's more like: why do you want to share your life story here? Use that energy for your friend. What do we need with this info? Pity?

I partly agree with you. This is a place for questions about everything related to pregnancy and babies, and people don’t really want pity stories. But she could have phrased it a bit more nicely.

    I'm pregnant too, you know!!

Should I also put my problems up for sale?

Glad your husband can go home again. I didn't know what to say, it was so awful! Wishing you lots of strength and luck with your partner and your little one. Don't pay any attention to the negative reactions. Just be proud that you did the right thing. Strength.

Let someone vent their frustrations, you know? What does it matter?

Once again, all the best of luck, and I'd go for Boaz Adil.

    Boaz!

Just keep in mind that Levi is a Jewish name. I don't know if this name is highly valued by the family in Turkey.

    Let's stick with Boaz Adil
  14. Emme Guest #15

I also think Boaz Adil sounds the most beautiful. Let's do it!
How are you doing with your friend? Hope everything is still going okay. Good luck with choosing the final name!

    Aayden (I assume it's pronounced ee-dun?)
I would write this as Aiden. Then it's my favorite.

    Otherwise Levi!

Wow, what awful responses, seriously! That woman is going through something terrible and then she gets told she’s not allowed to share her story. Even the question about what she’s trying to achieve. Says more about the person who says that than about her. You can also just read it and say nothing. Everyone makes their own choice about what they post on the forum.

Girl, I hope everything gets better for you and your boyfriend, and that he seeks help so this doesn’t happen again. It’s terrible for you and your baby!

As for the names, that’s what this is all about after all, I think Boaz is the most lovely!
  17. Emma Guest #18

Strength to you with that! Sometimes it helps to tell others or write it down, in this case!
I think Boaz Adil is a nice combination.
  18. ii Guest #19

    Condolences. What terribly sad.
  19. Emme Guest #20

What a sad time you're going through, really. So incredibly sad. My condolences. Strength.?
