Wout or Wouter

We're starting to doubt... At first, I was convinced about the name WOUT, but since I now know so many babies with that name, I'm wondering if we shouldn't go for the slightly more 'traditional' WOUTER instead...

    I personally think Wouter is nicer... More modern, you know... I think Wout used to be much more common in the past..
    But I can't really choose for you, tastes differ!

    I actually prefer the name 'Wout'. I find it more personal and sounds cooler.
    These names are so personal and so hard, right?
    Hopefully you'll figure it out.
    You're already so far along... luckily you still have some time to think about it .

    I wouldn't go for a shortened version of a name too quickly. If you officially call him Wouter, you can always address him as Wout. His friends will probably do that too later on... But when he's an adult, he can always choose to go back to the official name.
    We did the same with our Mart(en).
