Womb clinic or not?

Hi!

My husband and I have finally decided to try for a baby after three years of marriage, and I'm diving headfirst into it hahaha. I've got a question right away: did you go to a preconception consultation with the midwife? It seems useful to me (and especially fun????), but it's not covered by health insurance, and 120 euros is a lot to spend elsewhere.

I'm curious if you found it worthwhile, or if you can just wait until your first appointment after a positive test.

Kind regards!

Never heard of it, so I've never been there either..

Oh how funny, the midwife practices around here offer it all, actually . Well then we'll just get started and see where the ship ends up.

It's indeed possible at most midwife practices. Nice, but you should ask yourself if it's necessary. All the info you need is available online, and possibly also with your GP if you feel the need. It's mainly important to start taking folic acid, and possibly fish oil and vitamin D. I was already taking Mama Complete & omega 3 fish oil from Davitamon before I got pregnant. It's a bit pricey, but it has everything. And just enjoy this phase. Maybe it's wise not to drink too much after ovulation. And if you smoke, of course stop as soon as possible. Don't make a big deal out of it in the beginning. Because it can become frustrating if it takes a few months (up to a year is very normal). Lots of success and enjoy this time!

Yeah, that was exactly what I was wondering. Whether it really adds anything or if there's no rush. I'm studying midwifery myself and have most of the current relevant info at hand. I didn't smoke anyway and rarely drank (and now nothing at all). I'll just take it easy for a while
