Whether to get pregnant before the wedding or not, but I'm already 35.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I'm struggling with something. We're trying to conceive, but because I don't have a regular cycle, I need to take medication for it. We actually started this process 1 month before the wedding, but due to circumstances, we had to postpone the wedding, which is now delayed by 3 months. I'm not sure what to do with my desire to get pregnant. Should I also postpone it, or try now? The downside is that my bachelorette party is still coming up, as well as the wedding. And if I start the medication now, will I be upset if it doesn't work, or will I get my period on the wedding day? I find it a tough decision. Especially since it's probably not going to be easy for me, and I'm turning 36 in 2 weeks. But let's say you get pregnant later on, how do you handle your bachelorette party if you can't drink, and won't you be nauseous on your own wedding? Tough choice.

I'll go for it since you're older, and if it's already a pregnancy, it's still very early on, and you really won't see anything with a first baby yet.

One downside: I can't drink alcohol.

Oh yeah, not every woman feels nauseous.

I got married on June 26th and I was 34 weeks pregnant. After the wedding, I was completely wiped out, had elephant legs, and couldn't stand anymore. But it was amazing! So beautiful! My bachelorette party was super fun. Very chill and my wedding was fantastic. I can't wait to tell my daughter that she was there with us! I didn't miss the drinks at all. And believe me... I normally love a good party with the usual beers. But what AM says is true, I'd rather have a little one in my belly than a beer in my hand . So I say: go for it!

Thank you so much for your replies! It's really nice. I still find it difficult, I'm so afraid that I'll be sick or nauseous at the wedding or bachelorette party. Were you already nauseous early on in your pregnancy, Muus?
I'm also starting a new job in two weeks, so I find it tough to be pregnant right away, but maybe I'm overthinking it and should just go for my dream.

Funny, I was in the same boat back then but I'm a bit younger. I also got a new job, so I wanted to wait, until a friend of mine who has trouble getting pregnant said: Are you really going to put your life on pause for your job?! And that really opened my eyes. In the end, I was pregnant and healthy after a year; my first pregnancy unfortunately ended in miscarriage.

I did have some nausea but nothing too severe. There are women who are nauseous for 9 months, but there are also women who have no issues at all for 9 months. And at a wedding, you're so full of adrenaline that it kind of suppresses everything . When are you getting married?

Funny that you're also so full of it, and that's indeed how it is—there's never a perfect moment anyway
I'm getting married on September 25th, so if I started medication next month, I'd be 6 weeks pregnant on my wedding day. I'd find that tricky regarding my bachelorette party, especially what to say if you don't drink. If we wait another month, we'd start in mid-September, so you wouldn't know on your wedding day whether you're pregnant or not.
