12 weeks pregnant, made it!

Hi ladies, I'm new here.

Yay, I'm 12 weeks and 3 days pregnant today, so happy! Are there any moms who are also a bit worried about gaining weight? I've already put on 4 kilos and started the pregnancy overweight (85 kg). It feels like it's going fast for the first few months. I still have 6 months left to gain as much weight as I have now, which obviously doesn't say much about the whole pregnancy, but if I keep gaining like this, I'll be at 40 kilos haha. Are there any mamas in the same boat?

No experience with (a lot of) weight gain in the first weeks. But I did pay attention to what I ate. And didn't think "I have to eat for two" or "I'll get fat anyway" because you don't need much more than usual. And if you can't do anything about it, then try to have healthy snacks and enjoy your pregnancy because it's really over in no time!

I really don't eat for two, but my stomach is constantly rumbling. I snack on cherry tomatoes, apples, or something in between, of course. I do eat a cookie or chips sometimes too, everyone does it now and then. But it feels like I'm always gaining weight, like 200g or 300g every time, and in the end I've gained 4 kilos in 12 weeks

So no one has that experience, I'm the only one hahaha

With my first, I gained almost 10 kilos in the first 20 weeks, but 15-16 kilos in total. So that 40 doesn't have to be...
Now with my second, I'm 14 weeks and even a kilo lighter!

That's nice to read, Loes. Don't get scared hahaha, even though you know you're getting something beautiful.

With my first pregnancy, I also gained weight quickly in the beginning.
If you just eat 'normally', don't worry about it too much, okay?

The first one just seems to gain more weight than the other, without you having to do any crazy things. That can be frustrating sometimes, but you really can't always do anything about it You shouldn't eat for two anyway, and you shouldn't be eating bad stuff all day long, but you already know that.

I think I had already gained 4 kilos around that same number of weeks, despite being so nauseous and barely eating anything.

Now I'm at 12 kilos around 31 weeks, and I'm not eating anything weird. I have food allergies, so I can't even eat a lot of unhealthy stuff. Sometimes I find it annoying, but on the other hand, I think, well, if the little one is growing well, I'll figure it out after the birth And my boyfriend still thinks I'm beautiful, which is important too! You're carrying a baby... how special is that!

I think that 40 kilos will probably be manageable. Try to enjoy it, girl!

Hey anonymous. Yeah, I'm really trying to pay attention, but flying seems like a no-go now. Yeah, I'm starting to get less involved as my belly grows.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Oh, that's really not much weight gain for that stage, you're almost there and 12 kilos. I hope it goes the same for me. And I don't eat anything weird, no, because I've already lost almost 30 kilos here from dieting. I can easily resist sweets and cookies hahaha. Damn, thinking about it still makes me hesitate, you don't want to see too much on the scale.
