Hi Mamas and future mamas.

My name is Whitley and I'm 28 years old.

I'm here to ask if you'd like to help me get pregnant. Unfortunately, it won't work through the words you type in (that would be way too easy) haha. I'd really like to calculate my fertile days with you all, if you're willing. I've already done the online calculations, but I trust you guys who already have kids or are pregnant more. My boyfriend and I are both healthy, tested, and have been trying for two years, but it just isn't happening (sniff sniff).

My first question is:

I started my period this afternoon (which I find a bit odd, it usually happens at night, but okay). My normal cycle is 27 or 28 days. I usually have my period for 4, 5, or max 6 days. On the 5th or 6th day, I use a vaginal douche and I'm clean (let's say fluid-free).

Can you tell me what the best day is to have sex? And maybe this is an awkward question... but can you get pregnant if you don't climax from penetration?

I hope you'll want to help me.

Lots of love,

Whitley

Whitley, I think these women here are too lazy or selfish to respond. I'm still young myself, so I don't have any idea what I should say. I do hope someone is still human enough to reply.

Oh, that's so sad, girl, that you're still not pregnant after trying for 2 years. I'm also not very good at calculating the fertile days. I used different websites to see if the results were somewhat similar. What a huge help ovulation sticks can be. These are sticks where you have to pee on them, and they show when your fertile period is. You can get them cheaply online.

It's best to have sex every 2 days during your fertile period. And if you don't climax from penetration, that's not a problem. That won't prevent you from getting pregnant.

I hope this helps a bit, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I'll try to answer them as best as I can.

    Thanks for your reply, Xenia.
I feel my ovulation and on that day and the days after, I have sex but unfortunately, it still doesn't work. I'm also using sticks.

Maybe try having intercourse even before ovulation, alternating days on and off, then going back the next day. That way the sperm quality is also good. I know what it's like, I was trying for a long time too, now I'm very pregnant through IVF. How long should you keep trying before you can go back for a check-up?

    That's also a good one.
Will you spill a little secret.. my boyfriend has a high libido and if it's up to him, we do it every day, often 2 or 3 times on the same day. Not that I mind, but then he can't seem to get rid of his 'egg'. Or should he use his hand or should he save it up? Doesn't seem healthy either?
How great that you're pregnant now!!! Congratulations

You can't force anyone to reply here on the forum, and if you want a response, you definitely won't get one like that!
    At least not from me.

I'll join in here. But I think she meant well.

My boyfriend is also often away from home for work, and then he has to do it himself; he says he gets bothered by it otherwise

I can't really help you with your most fertile days since we didn't really focus on that, but I heard from my sister-in-law that it's best to have sex every other day because that allows his sperm to replenish (doing it every day or multiple times a day can lead to poorer sperm quality). Besides that, I can only recommend not to stress too much about it, because that definitely won't help (very hard, I know).

And yeah, if he helps himself out too much, that's not good either; it leads to lower sperm quality.

But ultimately, I think all those rules don't really matter that much. Just enjoy it and don't treat it like a chore. That's more fun for both of you and I think it'll only increase your chances (at least that's how it was for us).

Well said, Madelene! What exactly do you mean by not coming to a climax in yourself? How do you want to get pregnant then?

Oh, that's so sad it hasn't worked out yet!
    But persistence pays off, right?

I was told that you usually ovulate around day 12, but for me, it was a bit different. If you want to be sure, I think it's better to use ovulation tests...
As for saving sperm (which I read above), my hubby had to regularly bring a sample to the lab (artificial insemination...) and there the guideline was maximum 5 days, minimum 3 days without ejaculation. That's when the sperm is of best quality, if you're somewhere in between... Just sharing this with you

I wish you lots of success and hope you'll soon have a little miracle in your belly!
    Love! x

    Thanks Siska,

Hope I can get my friend to stay away from it! Today is my 2nd period (grr) and at the end of August he's leaving again ..hope that this time the renovations will work out.
