Yes, indeed, I'm new here on this forum.
I'm Gerda, 37 years old and expecting our 3rd child. My partner and I already have 2 kids, a daughter of 10 and a son of 7. So now consciously a 3rd pregnancy.
I've already done the combined test and everything is completely fine with our little one. Full of hope heading towards December 3rd, because that's my due date.

Greetings!
Gerda

Hi Gerda, welcome to the pregnant club... How are you doing with your pregnancy... I'm 39 myself and also expecting my third, I already have one who is 16 and one who is 12. My due date is around the 24th. I find it quite exciting but also very special...

Let me know how things are going for you.

By the way, we opted for a nuchal translucency scan and it was fine, so we're not doing any further tests. Are you planning on having any more tests???

    Greetings and love, Ju

    Hi Ju,
I already saw that I'm not the only "older" pregnant woman here, more than I expected actually. Nice! The pregnancy is going well. Last week was quite exciting though, because I had light bleeding. Yesterday at the clinic it turned out everything was fine and the blood didn't come from our baby, so well..... you know! For extra safety I'm going back in 2 weeks, but the bleeding seems to have stopped now, so my confidence is back.
Last week we had the nuchal translucency scan and everything was fine. The chance of a baby with Down syndrome was 1:1011 and that's the chance a 23-year-old has. The chance of trisomy 13 and 18 was even smaller than for Down, so we're not doing further tests, that also brings certain risks in the end. Everything else also looked fine: no open belly, no open spine, skull and brain well developed, no cleft.
The only downside was that the placenta is low-lying. That was also the case with my son, he was in breech position and a C-section was needed. There's a chance now that the placenta won't move further up during the pregnancy, but stays attached to the scar tissue. So that might mean another C-section. But well, I'll get over that too, I guess.
So your due date is November 24th? My son and daughter were both born around 38 weeks, so I won't be surprised if this baby comes earlier too, so around that time.
    Greetings!
    Gerda

Hi Gerda, that's fantastic to hear that your nuchal translucency measurement was also good... And yes, as far as I know, there are about 5 or 6 women our age, and it does surprise me too. I didn't think there would be so many older women, but it's great because then I don't feel like such an old timer haha. So yes, if your placenta is low-lying, it's wise to keep a close eye on it... We'll see when our little sprouts decide to show themselves. Keep me posted, and I'll do the same.

Greetings, Ju, and have a wonderful pregnancy....
