Temperature rise before expected period

AnnaGuest ·
Hi everyone,

I have a question. My husband and I are trying to conceive. I'm now 12 DPO. My temperature after ovulation has been around 36.1 to 36.9. Since 10 DPO, my temperature has been above 37 (37.0, 37.4, and 37.2). Can someone tell me what this means? Is it possible that I'm pregnant? Or does anyone know another explanation? Of course, I'll be taking a pregnancy test soon.

Thanks in advance for the (friendly) replies!

Temp looks good. Anna is very hopeful. Are you taking the temperature orally or rectally?

Hi MavanMi, I use an ear thermometer. May I ask why it's hopeful? Does a rise in temperature sometimes mean pregnancy? I can't find anything about it anywhere (maybe I'm searching wrong).

Okay, but anyway, it's positive. Hopefully, your temp stays high.

Right, it's at least something. Still, I'm really curious to find out why my temperature suddenly went up. Anyway, I don't feel sick at all, so that's probably not the cause.

Well, hopefully it stays high in the coming days. When are you going to take a test?

Indeed! If Wednesday comes and my period still hasn't started, I'll take a test. Last time, my period also came much later than expected, probably due to the stress of wanting to get pregnant.

I see a wrong name in my replies now, wasn't the intention haha

No worries Anna, I hope you keep up the pace in the coming days and enjoy a relaxed pregnancy. If you get a beautiful positive test, let me know!
    I'm rooting for you anyway

    MavanMi,

Thank you! I hope so too! I’d like to join that topic—how do I do that?
