    Hi Lindy,

I like Livy the most out of the names, my own daughter is called Livvy (so with two v's), her baptism name is Olivia

I think Joanna is the most beautiful from your list if I have to choose.
Evi feels too simple to me, and it sounds a bit like an abbreviation rather than a complete name.
LIVY is just terrible, sorry for me then.
Maggi is a well-known English name but doesn't give me that wow feeling, and I always picture a sad little girl, but that's very personal of course.
    I'd go for Joanna

    100% Joanna

I think Joanne is the cutest name from your list!
    Evi, I’m meh about...
Maggie and Livy are totally not my style!

Joanna is at the top of my list, so I voted for Joanna! But I would leave off that last 'a'.

    I'd still go for Joanna.

    Joanna!

Joanna is beautiful! Evi is nice too, but you hear that a lot. I think Eva is more beautiful. Livy is the prettiest to me (it looks a lot like Livia, which is my number 1). Maggie looks ugly to me, reminds me of Maggi for food.

evi and livy (liv is also beautiful)

I think this is an old topic, but if the original poster is still around:

I like Joannes the best (Dutch pronunciation, not the English one). Then Evi.

Maggie reminds me of a little maggie candy. Livy doesn't sound very nice. I'd rather go with Liva or Livia.

    So Joanna, not Johannes.

Another mom who lets the name depend on someone else... Why doesn't the mom decide herself what HER baby is going to be called? Why does the mom think someone else's opinion is more important?

Bkehh sometimes it's just nice to know how a name you choose for your baby comes across to someone else. Just purely to know how it comes across to that other person. I don't think it's so much about letting someone else completely decide for you.
    Greetings, Madelene

Ugh, why do you call another adult 'mama' instead of 'mother'? It sounds so childish.

I'd choose Joanna, but with the Dutch pronunciation.
  15. Mama Guest #16

Well, I mean, Mama is the same as mother. I do think Mama sounds nice, a little warm-up for my upcoming motherhood haha. I do sort of get what bkehh is saying. We came up with our own baby name and are keeping it nice and private until the birth. It's just like any other name, of course, it's an opinion; some might think it's nothing special and others find it nice. But we couldn't care less, it's our little miracle haha. Anyway, I like Evi the best! Short, strong, tough yet sweet, and still a bit different from the well-known Evy with a 'y'. Joanne sounds so old-fashioned and you hear it all the time. Maggie feels so old English to me and reminds me of Maggi cubes, and Livy sounds clearer if you spell it as Livvy.

I think Maggie is really awesome. Well, in its English form, Meggie. It's just that it doesn't fit our family name-wise, but otherwise, it would have been a serious contender if we had a girl.
