The name for our girl, no frills or fuss.

Hi everyone,

I'm pregnant with our fourth little one and it's going to be a girl again.
Our first is a boy and his name is Joep.
Then two girls, Jonne and Jobke.
You can guess it already: the fourth one will also get a name starting with JO.
And it's Joelle (pronounced just like the Dutch "Jowelle".
Do you think this will cause any pronunciation problems? We want to go with this spelling and not Joèlle or Joëlle, because we're afraid that then it might be pronounced like in English (djowelle) or French (zjowelle).
On top of that, we live in Germany, and there the name Jule is quite common, pronounced with an "oo" sound. I'm worried that they'll do the same with our name.
Sorry for the long story, what would you do???

    Hi Sandra,
Joëlle, that's how you spell it, right? But I'm not sure. It's a lovely name!

Hi Sandra, I would pronounce Joelle as Joe-le (like the verb "to joelen". So I'd also go for Joëlle.

I think a lot of people will read it as Joelle (so pronounced with the "oe" sound). I'd personally go for the trema on the e. My ex is named Joël, and it's just pronounced as Jowel. No problems!
