What do you think of the name Liam?

Would you pronounce it as

Lie-jam
or
Lie-jum

We think the last one sounds the nicest, but I'm afraid we'll have to keep correcting his name later on.
How do you all feel about this?

I think he's nice too but I'd definitely pronounce it as "lie-jam" in Dutch. Because in English it's officially "Laijum" or something... so "lie-jum" doesn't make sense when you see Liam written down. You know what I mean? It could also be because I know a Liam (lie-jam).

Nice name, we're going with William because Liam is used quite a lot.
Liam is also the abbreviation of William

We pronounce it as Wil-Jam and that's how Liam is pronounced here too.
Li-Jam, I think there are indeed very few people who will say Li-Jum.

    Greetings, Ukje

Would you pronounce this name as Lie-jam...
Honestly, the name isn't quite my taste...

I'd rather pronounce it as lie-jem

I think it's a really beautiful name too; it's on my 'wish list' as well. I pronounce it as lie-um.

    Thank you so much!!

That's nice, hyacint88! Aren't you "afraid" that people will say "Lie-jam" instead of "Lie-um"? That's the only thing holding us back.

I have the feeling that the name has become more well-known thanks to One Direction... That probably helps. And besides - if they mispronounce it, you just correct them right away! I actually expect that it won't be too bad.

I think Li-jum (in English) sounds nicer. Our baby’s name is Kyan (Kie-jun), and a lot of people say Ki-jan. I just correct them and can’t really mind, haha.
