Baby wish and migraines

Hi everyone,

I've been reading along on this forum for a few weeks now, but I really feel the need to post a message myself and maybe meet up with other ladies in a similar situation.

I'm a 27-year-old girl with a 28-year-old boyfriend. We've been trying for a baby for quite a while and have been preparing for it over the past few months. I suffer from both fibromyalgia and migraines. I manage the fibromyalgia well and am off medication. For my migraines, I used to take maintenance medication as well as pills I could take during an attack.

A few months ago, I made an appointment with my neurologist regarding our desire for a child. We were given a tapering schedule. I'm not allowed to take any migraine medication while trying to conceive, during pregnancy, or if breastfeeding.

My IUD was removed on April 8th, and we've been trying since April 19th. We didn't wait for a first period to pass. I haven't gotten my period yet (but that might start soon).

Since April 19th, I've already had 3 migraines. Each time, I'm stuck with them for a whole day, up to and including vomiting. I don't want to share this with my circle because they'd know we're trying for a baby. I find it really tough because my work (I'm a children's coach) will suffer, and my boyfriend will also bear a heavier burden. He's the sweetest guy in the world and always has my back, but I still feel the need to talk about it. Preferably with other ladies in the same boat.

I wasn't planning to track anything like that. But now that I'm getting these migraines weekly, I think it's better to track and increase my chances of getting pregnant.

I also don't know if I'm already fertile/pregnant by now. Exciting!

I'd love to hear from you all, and thanks for reading my story.
Love,
Draakje

Hi Draakje, I’ve been in the same situation as you, first when trying to conceive, then during pregnancy, and then with breastfeeding. Maybe you’ve already heard about the possibility of neurostimulation using the Cefaly. This is increasingly being used as a replacement for pills, even by neurologists. You can read more about it at www.cefaly.nl

    Good luck!

    Frederique
