Finally starting!

Yesterday was the day I was supposed to insert my new NuvaRing. My partner and I had spent half a year weighing the pros and cons, debating whether we should really go ahead with it.

I have Type 1 diabetes and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which makes pregnancy difficult (not conceiving, but carrying the baby). My partner found this really hard to deal with and only saw the risks it would pose for me... but still, his desire for a child grew stronger.

On Saturday I asked him: "What are we going to do? One more time, or stop?" He responded very decisively: "We're just doing it!"

So I'm super happy!!

With the ring, I always had a short period, 3 days... my period ended on Thursday, and yesterday was the day I was supposed to put in a new ring... When I woke up this morning, I already had bleeding again!

But let's see what my body has in store after 10 years of pills, IUD, and rings...

Because of my medical condition, many people don't think it's wise, so talking about our plans is really hard with people in my circle. It's so nice to be able to let my heart out here!

    Hi!

Congratulations on your choice! I did a bit of research because I’d never heard of this syndrome before. But I’m sure that with the right guidance and support, everything will work out!

Regarding the bleeding, it makes sense what you’re saying. Since you’ve been taking hormones for years now, your body just needs to clear things out and find its own rhythm again.

    Good luck in advance!

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, but I've been reading along for a while.
My boyfriend and I are getting married in September and want to start trying for our first baby from then on.
We'd actually love to start now, but we're not daring to do that because the wedding dress is already made to measure.
I've already stopped the pill in October so that it's completely out of my system by then, and my natural cycle can get back on track. The cycle length isn't the same every month yet. It's slowly getting shorter; I'm now at 31 days. We'll try to figure out my cycle pattern until September so we can start trying in September with a clear plan.
