I think Jolie is a bit more cheerful!

I think Jolie is nicer too!
Do you pronounce it Jeeni or Jenni? Because if it's the latter, I'd write it with double n!

Jeni would you pronounce as Djeenie. Jenni I was also thinking of at first, but then I find Jolie or Jeni smoother.

I wouldn't choose Djeenie myself. I'd go for Jane, American-style, like Jane and Tarzan. Pronounced like "Jeen".
    Greetings, Madelene.

It's going to be Jolie, just like we're thinking now.

    Nice, mama,
    Jolie sounds cheerful and happy!

    Nice indeed, good choice.
A cheerful and not too common name
Glad you've found the right one.

    Thanks for your replies!

One thing I should also think about with this name is that it's the number of Dolly Parton's Jolie. It's also a nice song.

Haha yes you mean Jolien, Jolien, Jolien, Joliehiehien????
  11. Madelene #12

    Oh yes Jolien, that's it
Yeah, they sound really similar when you hear them.
I also think Jolien is beautiful for a girl
    it sounds cheerful and strong.
    greetings Madelene

    Jolie

Doesn't Jenie sound nicer than Jolie? How would you pronounce Jolie?
  14. Madelene #15

Just pronounce it like you write it, like Jolie but in English.
The J is pronounced differently; otherwise, it sounds so weird in Dutch.

How would you pronounce Jemie in Dutch or English?
Because Jemie in Dutch doesn't sound so nice to me.
But it's about you, of course, where does your heart lie more?
    Greetings, Madelene

    Jolie!
  17. Mama started this #18

Jenie had also been in English.
  18. Madelene #19

In English, I think it sounds nice.
    It's a quite tough-sounding name, I think.
It's just about what you prefer.
I think Jenie sounds tougher than Jolie.
    Greetings, Madelene

Yeah, my gut says Jeni too. So without the E at the end. Just a bit more cool.
