Can my egg be fertilized?

Can you get pregnant if you had sex on the same day after your ovulation test was positive?

Of course that's possible, Tamara! The egg is released within 12 to 24 hours after a positive ovulation test. Sperm can survive for up to 72 hours, so there's a very good chance you're pregnant!

That's the whole point of ovulation tests, haha, so yes; the egg can definitely be fertilized!
Good luck with the two-week wait!

    Thanks Kim and Kruimel.
I hope you're right! I'll wait patiently because I'm also secretly afraid it didn't work out again. I'm sneakingly paying attention to symptoms... I guess I shouldn't do that, huh For example, I have sore nipples, but that could also be because my period is coming again.

Bah! Why is it so difficult!!!

Hi hi, I read that the egg can release 24 hours, and even up to 48 hours, after a positive test. You can probably find the best info on that in the leaflet of your ovulation tests, I think.

It seems like I read somewhere that many women get pregnant from sperm that have been waiting in the uterus. So, even two days before ovulation. And even more so on the same day, so yes, there is definitely a chance.

    Ladies,
    Thanks for your messages!
I hope with all my heart that it worked this time, really. Just like Madelene said, that the sperm are lying there waiting..i hope so! I had intercourse the 2 days before my ovulation and one day after, I remember now that I thought about it.
I really want to test now but know that it's silly and that it's not even possible yet. I do have some sore nipples, occasional dizziness and cry over the smallest things..I shouldn't pay too much attention to it, right ...?

    I really want a baby!!!

Oh, I forgot something! Have you had any experience with Pre Seed?
  8. kruimel #9

@ Tamara; Yes, I have experience with that. I was pregnant in the same month. But this isn't entirely fair because I used medication, was monitored with ultrasounds, had an HSG, and had 2 eggs, so it was more the combination that led to me getting pregnant.

Good luck and try to wait as long as possible before testing!

    Greetings

Ooh! So if it doesn't work out this round, could Pre Seed help make some progress? And of course, I'll keep a close eye on my ovulation. I hope you don't mind me asking so many questions :$

Just went to the toilet and saw a bit of discharge in my underwear. Clear white and a bit thicker. Just like cream, hehe..

Now I'm starting to doubt and I'm afraid I'm just going to get my period again.
    #Sad.

That's totally normal, Tamara, don't worry! During your cycle, discharge changes regularly. Around ovulation, it usually becomes clear, stretchy mucus.

I've already had my egg drop

I also always have thicker, white, jelly-like discharge for a few days after my ovulation until a few days before my period. No worries, you're overthinking it

I guess I'm kind of kidding myself. I don't want to get pregnant, but I do want to be pregnant!!!!!
  15. Kimxx #16

I totally get that I was in the same boat during the first few rounds too! But after irregular cycles, ovulation tests, and now being in round 5, I’m a bit more grounded. We’re letting it happen and hoping it’ll be granted to us soon Hopefully it works out for you, girl!

That's also the only thing you can do as a soon-to-be mom... stay calm about it. Leave it up to fate. Maybe if we want it too much, or are too focused on it, it won't work out. I'll wait patiently, and if I get my period, that's fine too (ridiculous that I'm saying that), but at least then I'll know everything's okay in there.
I hope it happens quickly for you guys.
I heard PreSeed is also supposed to be good... maybe something to think about??
