How many arrived?

Hi ladies! I hear that some women gain a lot or very little weight during their pregnancy. With my first child, I was 17 kilos heavier at the end of my pregnancy. I hope to gain a bit less this time. I'm now 20 weeks and have gained 3 kilos. I'm just curious about your experiences... how far along are you, and how many kilos have you gained so far? Or how much did you gain by the end of your pregnancy? Pure curiosity :-D Thanks in advance! X

Hi! I'm not pregnant, but I have two little girls. With both of them, I was so proud of my belly that I didn't care how much weight I gained or lost. But with my first, it also took so long for my belly to finally show, so I was really happy and proud when it finally became visible. I didn't gain that much weight with my little girls. Just normal people also told me what a nice pregnant belly you have, really just a sweet little pregnant belly. I thought it was super, I even missed my belly after my pregnancies a lot. Greetings, Madelene

Now in my fourth pregnancy, I've gained less than 9 kilos. With the first one, it was 12 kilos, the second one was similar, and I don't remember exactly how much for the third, but it wasn't a lot either. I find it really nice that I haven't gained too much; all that weight will have to come off again later anyway.

As for after giving birth, I actually got my figure back pretty quickly.
With both my girls, it was no effort at all to get slim again.
Maybe it helped that I breastfed my girls.
It seems you get your figure back faster that way; it worked for me too.
I got fuller in the right places, my breasts.
Other than that, I just got my slim figure back again.
So I have no experience with those stories about losing weight after pregnancy.
    Greetings, Madelene

Oh yes, I did... I had to put in a lot of effort to lose those extra pounds. Definitely exercising 3 times a week... 2 hours each time, and being careful with what I eat and drink. Since it went so well, I kept it up and lost 15 kilos. At the start of this pregnancy, I weighed 7 kilos less than the last time, and now I'm really mindful of what I eat (which was quite different last time) ;-). But it took 1.5 years to get it off, so I really hope it works out easier this time!! I also want to try breastfeeding... I did it for 3 days with my first baby, but due to my flat nipples, it was very difficult and extremely painful. So I'm already scouring the internet for good tips;-). Thanks in advance for your responses! Nice to read!! X
