Hi!!

My partner and I couldn't be more different when it comes to name preferences... I love unique names, and he prefers (almost) uncool ones.. At least, those are the names that are common in the less fashionable neighborhoods.. Anyway.. Now I have the name Romée in my head.. I think it's a beautiful name, and it also fits well with the name of our first child.. Now I'd love to know what you all think about this name..

I personally don't think much of Romee. It reminds me of cream sauce because of the "romee" part, sorry, I can't help it. Besides, I don't think it's a typical Dutch surname. I always find it a bit silly to associate a first name with a surname.

    Kind regards, Madelene

I don't really like Romee either..
But about your association with names and unsociable neighborhoods... there's some truth to that..

Regarding my comment about associations with neighborhood names, I think it's nonsense. I mean that a name always remains just a name. And while one name might occur more often in certain neighborhoods than another, that's probably just coincidence. People create that association themselves if they feel a name sounds like a neighborhood name or not. That's how I see it. Greetings, Madelene.

I don't think Romée is super either.

    Romy
    Esmée
    Renée

seem to have a bit more to them.

It's really hard picking a name, especially when your tastes are so different.

    Good luck!

Nice name! Another one that doesn't come up often.. I love it.. Do you pronounce it kind of like Rome but with the 'ee' sound?

I don't think much of Romy either.
It reminds me too much of cream cheese.
Chayenne might be nice, it seems a bit like your type of name.
    Greetings, Madelene

Chayenne and Romy/Romee are worlds apart.
And of course you don't have to like it, they're just asking for your opinion on Romee
  9. Madelene #10

Exactly, very cleverly noticed by you.
Indeed, people's opinions are being asked for, and I also give my opinion.
And no, those names don't really look alike.
But I've noticed that in our area, many people name their children Romy, and they seem to really like that name. Of course, that's not true for everyone. It was just an idea.
By the way, nice reaction from you to me
    Greetings, Madelene

I don't associate the name with cream.. Actually it's just because you say Ro-mee and not cream-ee.. Knew a girl once who was called that so that's why.. With Romy it's the same..

Don't associate the name with Room either.
    And Donnee?
  12. Anonymous Guest #13

My friend has named her baby Rom é . Because of that, I don't associate it with being antisocial at all, especially since I know her and she's definitely not antisocial. I think it's a nice name

Romée is a lovely name. It really fits well with Dinant and Ferron.
The Romée I know has a sister named Merle, maybe that's another idea.

Romee is a lovely, beautiful name! It was also on our list, but we didn't really like "Romee ga je mee" (it rhymes with a lot of words). We ended up choosing Loïs, and her middle name is Riva. On our list were also: Jackie, Liv, Lauren, Meave, Saar, Faye, Mila, Yara, Rox, Noé, Mea, Fiene. Maybe something will catch your eye among them.

    Nice!

Romee or Nikee, both sound lovely!

I actually think Romée is super cute! Too bad your friend has such different taste. I totally get you! If a name has an 'ordinary' association, I also find the name less appealing right away.

I really like Romee too! This name is also on my list. Other names from my list are:
Liva, Rhodé, Novée, Lise, Yuna, Nora, Ella, Faye, Jula, Merle, Chloë, Aimée, Nova, Fiene, Sophia, Fenna, Mila, Feline, Julin, Danae, Lenthe
Wow, so many names haha. Hopefully, there's something in there!

I think Romée is a nice name. Not too unique, not too common. Just lovely.
