Gerard (translation)

Good afternoon,

I hope someone can help me because I'm at a loss!

We want to name our son after his grandfather, Gerard. However, we feel that Gerard is no longer modern and we're looking for a translation. I've spent many hours searching online, unfortunately without success (besides the standard ones like Garreth, etc., which look too much like Gerard).

As an example: Jan in Celtic is Jevon. I'm looking for something similar.

Who can help me???

Thanks in advance!!!

Kind regards, Shanna
