Peter and godparent dilemma
SylvieL
Hi everyone,
I hope I’m in the right forum for my question, and that someone can give me an answer or some tips.
I’m currently pregnant with our second child. We have a small family, so there aren’t many options for godparents. My mom is the godmother of our first child, and my father-in-law is the godfather. So now we had to look for new ones, and we had three people left: my mother-in-law, my dad, and my brother. My mother-in-law will obviously be the godmother. But who should be the godfather? Both my dad and my brother will undoubtedly hope to be chosen. We’d really prefer to ask my brother to be the godfather. But then my dad would be the only one not getting the role. I’m not sure how we can handle this. Having two godfathers and one godmother crossed our minds, but then godparenthood doesn’t feel quite as special anymore... Any tips on how we can solve this or explain it to my dad?
Best,
Sylvie
