8 days overdue and negative tests

Hi there,

I'm new to the site so I'm not really sure where to post everything yet.
But I have a question.
My last period was on Feb 3rd. I'm usually very regular, so I expected it on Feb 6th (since Feb only has 28 days). I haven't been on the pill for at least 2 years now. This is because my partner had cancer a few years back, and during surgery a nerve was damaged, which meant he couldn't ejaculate externally. The oncologist told us back then that natural conception wasn't possible. Well, he's actually recovered from that now, which wasn't supposed to happen, and he can ejaculate normally again. (A bit awkward to talk about, haha). To make a long story short, we had quite a few unprotected encounters in Feb, and now I'm 7-8 days late. I took a test on Wednesday (3 days ago) and today, and both were negative. Anyone have experiences or tips??

    Hi, welcome.

Every body is different and not everyone can test positive right away. Unfortunately, it takes six weeks for me. It really depends on when conception occurred; you have to figure that out first before you take a test. I'm happy for you that things are going better with your partner. Good luck.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I guess I'll just wait and see. But it's still exciting...

Yes, for some things in life you need more patience

Unfortunately, I'm not very patient; long days are tough for me. It's also quite strange how your body can play tricks on you like that.

Yeah, it would be handy if you could get an answer right away with a test when you feel something, but unfortunately, it doesn't always work out like that. I always have to wait six weeks.

Pff that's also long. Really annoying when you feel like you're doing everything right but nothing comes out. I'll just wait and see.
