Birth photographer

Hi ladies,
I'm curious if any of you have experience with this and would like to share?
I think it would be wonderful to have a reportage of the birth, but unfortunately, my partner sees it very differently.
I'd love to hear your opinions.

Love,

    Hi Ramona,
honestly, my husband would also have trouble with that because he's quite jealous.
He often gets jealous when guys stare at me in town, which is pretty cute.
But I wouldn't feel comfortable with it either, to be honest.
I think something like that is just for me and my partner, so it's not really my thing.
I can't really imagine that it would be fun.
But I respect it if you enjoy it; everyone's different in that regard.
I can totally understand your friend, though.
I can imagine he sees it differently.
    Best, Madelene

I don't even want to think about it. Brrr, camera on my box. Doesn't seem very charming. Especially my face during labor.. Hahaha

Personally, I don't think so. Giving birth is just not a charming thing. So I don't know if that would make for a nice report either.
By the way, are there even photographers who do that? I've never heard of it before.

It's getting more and more trendy in the Netherlands, and even though you definitely don't look your most charming during childbirth, I'm really happy with the photos my mom took!
And then there are mine, just regular 'amateur' photos.
I'd definitely consider it, it's really beautiful, especially if it's done professionally.

Check out Pinterest (under "Birth photography", there are some really nice photos there. Maybe to convince your partner, hehe.

I normally find it pretty awful to have my picture taken, so I can't even imagine some stranger with a camera being there during the birth.
My husband feels the same way.
Of course, we do keep our own camera handy to take pictures of the little one right after the birth.

Definitely, Amy. There aren’t that many who do it, but the birth photography I’ve seen online is really beautiful/unique.
Absolutely no photos focused on your private parts, as many people think.

Hi Ramona, I hoped (and already assumed) that they are indeed tasteful photos. I wouldn't want to look back on my birth. Your whole head isn't exactly in the right place during a birth anyway.
I think it would be nice for you if some women who have done it would respond here. And don't forget, even though most here respond negatively. That kind of birth is your own party, so if you want to do it, just do it!
