I'm curious if there are any mamas here who are going for a fourth baby now. I stopped the birth control pill on Feb 6 and hope to get pregnant this year. Who wants to chat!

    Hi Moon,

I'm also going for a 4th baby. Stopped the pill in November. Now on the 4th round. Ovulation today.
Hope your cycle gets going well. How old are you and your kids?
    I'm 36... turning 37 this year.
My kids are 15, 10 and 3 years old.

    Hi Bessie,

That's so nice that you replied!

I'll be 36 in May, my oldest girl is 16, a boy is 10, and the youngest, also a boy, is 2.5 years old.

That must be quite exciting for you, so this is your fourth round. I'm hoping to get pregnant around summer.

Our kids are almost the same age, how nice!

Well, indeed. I have a son, a daughter, and a little boy. Yeah... time flies when it comes to that..... I hope it won't take too long since we've been trying for a year. I'll be 37 in June... I really hope to give birth before I turn 38. But unfortunately, that's not something you can plan. It took me 3 years to have my little boy, going through 5 miscarriages.
Hopefully, you'll get your cycle back soon... are you still doing anything with ovulation tests or basal temperature? I had my egg today... ovulation tests were positive and I always feel my egg, but because I test, I now know it's really my egg and not that the pain comes before or after.

That's intense, wow, 5 miscarriages—that's not something you just brush off. I'm in the same boat as you; I told my husband I'll give it a year. Once I turn 37, I think it'll be fine. I don't use ovulation tests—I've never done that before—and I think I'd stress too much about them. But I've always had a very regular cycle and late ovulation, so as soon as I get my period, I know where I stand. Exciting times ahead, huh...

Yes, we have that too. It would be soooo cozy if we could do it again, but we're very happy with three kids. I also went crazy from those tests... it was my first time too. Didn't get a positive ovulation test for three months. This month tested with extra sensitive ones and they're super. My cycle varies. Had a 24-day cycle in between. Now exactly on day 14 my ovulation.
Very exciting... I find it just as exciting as with the other kids. Do your kids know about your plans? Not yet here.

I have to say I'm now more focused on the practical things. But the longer you're dealing with it, the more your desire starts to grow, right. Good that you're holding out for those tests. I always have a cycle of 30/31 days and my egg around day 17. Exciting that you had such a clear test this time, who knows, maybe this month it'll be the one. Only our oldest knows, but that's because she's been saying for a year "here comes another one" and I say no way, we're done. I'm more apprehensive about the delivery now, don't you have that?

    Hi girl,

I'm thinking more about how to divide attention. My daughter isn't the easiest and takes a lot of energy. I do have the feeling that, like with the third, the fourth will be easier to handle. My daughter has her own ideas and would really like a brother, preferably a sister. I think my son is done with babies haha. But I haven't made anything official yet :-D

Well, indeed... the third birth was really the most unpleasant... how strange. Did you have smooth births? Only my daughter was quick.. 4.5 hours and not too intense contractions. My son came after 21 hours but was easy to catch. My little boy took 9.5 hours but that felt like 3 days.... I really didn't have that kind of pain with my other two. I gave birth to the first two at home.

It's really nice that you always have a regular cycle. I'm lucky, I do too. Never irregular (let's not shout that too loudly haha).

Do you have to renovate for a fourth?

    Hi hi,

Well, my first birth was a breeze, even though it was induced and lasted 6 hours. The second one was also induced, but he weighed 4.5 kg and got stuck on his shoulders. It was quite intense, I had a lot of tearing and lost a liter of blood. But for the last one, I was stripped at 39 weeks, and then it started naturally. Still, I had tearing again. Bah, another 3 hours lying down to get stitched up. I really feel let down by that. So yeah, I hope that won't be necessary next time.

I do have a 'worrying child'—our 10-year-old son is also in special education; he's highly sensitive. I don't think he's really looking forward to a baby. But as he gets older, it does get easier.

I think the fourth one will also just roll in easily, but then again, the third one was starting over after 8 years. And with the bedrooms, we'll just shift things around.

Now, I had my last shot in November, so it's already worn off. But now the doctor says I can get pregnant even before having a period. So I think I'll test just to be safe next week, and then every 4 weeks until my cycle is back on track. Last week I only had some brown discharge...

    Hi Moon,

Oh that sounds absolutely terrible to have it cut off. I've always been scared of that. Never happened to me.

Well, then we're in a similar situation. My daughter is in cluster 4 education and has a mild intellectual disability with ADHD. She's already starting to go through puberty... got her period at 9 and since then her hormones are going wild in her little body. Really sad.

I was on the injection pill for 1.5 years and I think I got my period after just 2 weeks, but it can indeed take up to half a year. During that time, pregnancy is very possible. Do you feel your ovulation? It's definitely smart to take a test in the meantime.
  10. Bessie #11

Oh, we have to split a room in half, just the two youngest ones together. It's a pretty big bedroom.

Hi hi, the weekend is almost over already, it goes by so fast, right?

That's not bad at all for your daughter to get her period at 9; that's early. Are you finding it hard? I had a moment where I was so overwhelmed that I thought all my attention should go to him.

Well, 1.5 years on the injection and then your period comes back so quickly—that's really fast. When I read horror stories online, I get scared, but I've only had it twice. In November, so that was the last time.
    So just wait calmly...

You guys probably have to do some shifting to make some space, right? You always need that. We're doing some shifting here too, but hey, we still have 9 months, wow...

    When is your due date?
  12. Bessie #13

Yeah, that weekend flies by. Went to Amsterdam to see Anouk on Saturday. It was really nice.

Yeah, I think so too. Next week. She demands all the attention and a lot of time and energy goes into her. She's lagging behind a lot, so mentally she's 8 years old in a 13-year-old's body. And actually she's just 10. So it doesn't match... she suffers a lot from that. But we do our best to support her as well as we can. Also with school and institutions. It's tough for her. But my little boy fits in easily too and she loves it with her brother.

Yeah, I've read those horror stories too, although I wasn't thinking about having another baby at the time (which suddenly popped into my head haha). My partner made the comment. I asked my daughter: what do you want for Sinterklaas? Then my partner said: a brother or sister. Well... that brought back my rattling ovaries haha.

I have my period on March 12th/13th. Depends on how long my cycle is now. Two months ago I got my period 10 days after ovulation. But last cycle it was 28 days. So I'm going with 28 days.

How lovely, Anouk! I went to the household fair on Thursday. It was so nice to have a day away, and there was a pasar malam too, which was really fun.
But it sounds pretty intense for your daughter, wow. It's good that you have a network with agencies, and cooperation with the school is very important. I hope she finds it a bit easier as time goes on.

I totally relate to how, when the topic of babies comes up, your ovaries seem to leave the building hahaha.
It's starting to feel more real now. I had some red bleeding this morning, so I hope I'll get my period now, that would be amazing. If it gets regular again...

Fingers crossed for you in two weeks, exciting!!
  14. Bessie #15

Moon, oh that would be nice....then everything is getting going now, girl. Hope it works out for you. Although it would have been nice if it had already succeeded by now :-)

Is that fun, the household fair? I've never been there before. Seems like a nice idea.

Yes, I'm already counting down :-)
  15. Nona started this #16

One and one is two, obviously, or am I missing something? Are you Bessie from the Viva forum?! I can't log in there, and after 20 attempts it finally works, and then I've missed so much.

The Household Fair was also my first time for me, but I really enjoyed it. I also took a little walk by the 9-month fair, hehe...
  16. Bessie #17

Hahaha Moon, yessssss......how nice!!! I had it for a while too and now I'm coming back to it. But not for 2 weeks. Nice to see you here!

Sounds fun too. Never went to the 9-month expo in Nov either. Decided to go anyway.
  17. Nona started this #18

Wow, what a coincidence, haha! Nice though. I do think it's a shame that the forum often doesn't work well or maybe it's overloaded, I don't know.

No period here either, though it's weird. I did have some bleeding a week before I was supposed to get my next shot, but I guess that's not a period. I do have a lot of cramps and back pain. I'm going to test this afternoon, so I can rule that out. I also had to go for a mammogram. Luckily, everything was fine, but the doctor said I have a lot of milk ducts in both breasts.

Well, we'll just have to wait and see...

Just a quick update: no need to get tests because that stomachache wasn’t for nothing—I really got my period. It really broke through, wow, pretty fast, huh? I’m super happy about it. My husband and son were on a trip, but they’re coming back the day after tomorrow. What timing, hihi...
  19. Bessie #20

Moon, that's so nice you got through it. Now you can really start. Get rid of it quickly haha. I'm waiting here. 9 more days.

Yeah, it sometimes drove me crazy. I'd type out a whole story and then get an error message. Really miserable.
