Help, I'm really scared

Hi, I'm a 16-year-old girl and I'm really scared that I might be pregnant. My boyfriend and I had sex with a condom, but he stayed inside for another 2-5 minutes after (sorry for the intimate language..). Now I've had sensitive breasts, dizziness, and lower abdominal pain for a few days. I should normally get my period around this time, but I'm still really scared.. Can someone help me? Greetings

    Hi Bang,

    When did you have sex?
The symptoms you're experiencing could also be due to your upcoming period.
Try not to stress yourself out too much, because stress can delay your period and make you think you're pregnant.
You can take a test 2 weeks after having sex.
    I hope this helps.

    Love,

    Thanks lala120 for your reply,

The last time was last Thursday, but I think it was actually from the time before that (namely 3 weeks before).. I had read that you can also get pregnant if he stays in too long and I've indeed been seriously stressing about it after that.. If I don't get my period tonight I'll take a test and hopefully I'm not pregnant.. Fingers crossed

    @bang,

That's the only way to find out, right?
But you've always used condoms, haven't you?
    Hugs..
I'll let you know if your test is positive or negative...

If you don't trust it, you can always take a test!

    Good luck!

    Dear Bang,

A test can give you a bit more clarity. Go to Action; they’re cheap there! Or at Kruidvat, where you can buy Early pregnancy tests (2 for 5 euros). Read the instructions carefully!

But no, you don’t necessarily get pregnant faster if it stays inside you longer. Don’t overthink it. You used a condom, and your ovulation was most likely 2 weeks ago.

The only thing you might want to think about is your own contraception. Is the pill an option? Using two methods together reduces the chance of pregnancy even more. If it’s not possible, for whatever reason, that’s fine too. But it might help you avoid ending up in these kinds of situations again, especially since you and your boyfriend are having sex!

Oh, and I agree with Lala. I always got sore boobs around my period. Actually, I had all the symptoms of my period when I turned out to be pregnant. Since you’re so scared of being pregnant right now, you might be imagining things.

Wishing you lots of luck, and fingers crossed that you just get your period!! Let me know how it went (period or the test??)

    Love,
    Louise

    Super thanks for the replies,

I think I'm worrying too much, but yeah, I'm only 16, so that would be a huge taboo if I came out now saying I'm pregnant..
We always used contraception (condoms), but you never know how fast (or how slow) you can get pregnant..
I'll definitely let you know! Thanks again!
