postpartum tears

Hi, are there more moms who struggle with postpartum tears, feeling emotional and empty?
I had 2 very easy babies but still felt sad and empty during my maternity leave.
I missed my pregnant belly so much and missed having the baby inside. A feeling of emptiness and sadness that's hard to compare to anything. Now my princesses are 4 and almost 6, and I'm so glad that maternity leave is over, even though the babies were easy by the book and I had nothing to complain about.
I really struggled with postpartum tears.
Do more moms have this or have had it?
Greetings, Madelene

I had a few days with my husband too. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh, but we were happy.

But your body has done some serious sports, let me tell you. And all sorts of things go through your head, like missing loved ones.

What played a part for me was that I had a quick delivery, got to go home nicely, but my husband had severe jaundice, so after 3 days he had to go back to the hospital. He was there for 3 days, it was so bad, there was nothing to stay over there.

I did breastfeed, of course, and at night they took care of things because you're quite a tough new mom, you know.

Looking back, it wasn't so bad when you saw what those little ones were going through, born too early and all...

    Hi Madelene,
I completely relate to your feelings!!
After so many months of regular check-ups during pregnancy, so many months of counting down, etc., I've now fallen into a 'black hole'.
I was so looking forward to the postpartum period in the hospital, and it flew by!
Now I'm home and I miss it completely... I also have this indescribable feeling of emptiness at the moment.
And yet I'm so happy with my daughter! I feel so guilty about it...
But in the hospital, you had the follow-up, the visits, etc... and now at home, I feel so lonely...
It's all so contradictory, isn't it?

I’ve cried a few times during my maternity leave, but this was from happiness and healthy anxieties. When I read the news, I cried because I wondered what kind of world my baby would be entering, what kind of world it was. But no tears of discontent, so I’m not sure if these are really maternity blues..?
