Hi! I had unprotected sex 23 days ago. Basically, my girlfriend missed taking her pill for a few days. Because we were worried, we took a pregnancy test 17 days later and another one 23 days later, and both were negative. My girlfriend is back on the pill, so she doesn't know when her period is due to figure out when to test. My question is: are these tests reliable?

I'd say those tests should be reliable—you're either pregnant or not—but keep in mind they can also come back negative if the pregnancy hormone is still too low to detect. Just to be safe, your friend could get a blood test or take another test after a while. And of course, use protection if you're not ready for kids yet, but I guess you've probably already thought of that yourself. By the way, your cycle might still be a bit off right after stopping the pill.
