I have a question. I might be almost 5 weeks pregnant. I had two blood tests last week, both negative, and the tests too. I've been nauseous all the time. My last period was on January 21. My breasts are also a bit larger, and I have a strange feeling in my lower abdomen. Could it be that I am pregnant after all, but it's just not showing yet?

    Hi San,

Yes, that's definitely possible! My girlfriend had her last period on January 9th and only tested positive yesterday! I'd suggest waiting a bit and testing again in a few days. As long as you haven't had your period, there's still hope!

    Good luck!

    Love,
    Kim

    Hi ladies,

I’ve got a quick question for you all. My last period was on Feb 4th. According to various calculations and my gut feeling, my fertile window was Feb 14-20. We only managed to have sex once, but better once than never. My ovulation should have been on Feb 17th.

Since Feb 18th, I’ve had pain like I’m about to get my period, but that’s obviously way too early since my next period is due on March 3rd. The pain isn’t too severe, though—it’s mainly in the mornings and evenings, and during the day it’s manageable.

I’m not sure when implantation would happen. Could this already be early pregnancy symptoms, or is my body playing tricks on me? This is the first month I’ve felt this kind of nagging, aching pain so early. I stopped the pill last August, so it would be very welcome.

Do you have any advice on this?

Hi Hope, that would be quite early. Where exactly is the pain? I’ve read that your ovaries can also get irritated by ovulation. I actually had a dull ache near my left ovary too. Especially in the evening when I’m sitting still and more aware of it. Implantation usually happens a few days after ovulation, but it’s different for every woman, of course. It’s hard to say anything sensible about it, right? If only we had little windows to peek and see what’s going on.
    Welcome to the waiting bench!

    Hi Bertha,

It's a nagging, throbbing pain and it's kind of all around my belly.
And it's also really pushing forward.
And today I've also been having some heartburn.
My boyfriend says it's all in my head,
but I really feel different than in the past few months.
Maybe my body is indeed going crazy on me, and maybe it is also a little bit in my head.
But I've decided to let it rest and wait until the first week of March. If it only gets worse instead of better, yeah, then we'll notice it pretty quickly. It's going to be long days.

Oh, I hope you're pregnant! I'm really hoping for you! A few days ago you ovulated, so there probably isn't much to notice yet... I'm also on the waiting list until March 2nd.. It feels like forever!! I don't notice anything special about my body either.. I have some tender breasts but that can come from various causes.. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for you, Bertha! Do you have a good feeling about it?
    Xx

I have hope, but I also realize that things could go wrong at any moment. I’ve got some headaches, pimples, a bloated belly, and some dull aches, but all of these could also have other causes.
I just have to be patient. As hard as that may be.

I'll just wait and see what the coming days bring, and we'll just wait and see what the result on Feb 3/4 will be. There's nothing special to see with my breasts; it's just heartburn, gurgling intestines, and nagging pain in my belly and back. The only thing I know 100% for sure is that this is the first month that I'm already feeling different so soon after ovulation. Usually, when I'm about to get my period, that pain starts a few days before. But not a week and a half before, like it is now.

And I also had an additional question. Since I've been feeling different, I've restarted taking folic acid. But is it too late to have started?
  9. Betty #10

Actually, you should start earlier, but better late than never, I’d say.
I’ve been taking vitamins for a few months before stopping the pill, but I forgot that you’re not supposed to have too much coffee. I usually drink 5 cups a day, but apparently that’s already too much
  10. hoop Guest #11

Yeah, I know because I feel different every day. I don't have any problems with coffee; I don't drink that much.

What I do know is that I might be drinking and eating a lot of things right now that I probably shouldn't, but yeah, I'm not officially pregnant yet, so we're just going to wait and hope it's early March.

Folic acid helps at any stage, you know. Better late than never, that's true. And yeah, those five cups of coffee are quite a lot. Maybe cut back a bit? If you're unsure whether you're pregnant or not, you can just take a test. That way you'll know for sure and can decide what to do. Waiting it out is tough, especially if you're already feeling different.
