unsure, does anyone else have these symptoms?

Ladies,

I should be getting my period this Sunday. Since last Wednesday, every time I go to the toilet, I notice some mucus discharge on the toilet paper.
I have pain around my ovaries and groin, and occasionally I get heartburn. Even though we really want to be pregnant, the uncertainty is really tough.
I even took an early pregnancy test today and it was negative. Of course, it might be too early since it's only 4 days before my period, but I've read online that it can sometimes still show up in certain cases. Does anyone have experience with this kind of abdominal pain and mucus discharge? Is it possible to have mucus discharge this far before your period?

Hi tiger, I actually have exactly the same right now. I'm due to get my period in 7 days and since yesterday I've had sudden stomach pain and a lot of mucus for 2-3 days... How did it go for you?

Hey little tiger.

I totally relate. I definitely don't want to discourage you, but for me, that mucus discharge and cramping are usually a sign of an upcoming period. I'm normally due in about 8-9 days, and we've been trying to conceive for 7 months now. That uncertainty every month is absolutely exhausting. I catch myself focusing on every little sensation, and it really drains my energy.

I truly, truly hope it worked out for you. And if it didn't, chin up and keep trying!!
