A faint line is still a line!!! It started like that for me a few weeks ago too... Congratulations!!!

    Hey ladies,
I'm new here and have a question. Hopefully, you can help me out. I'm currently 9 days before my (expected) period. According to the ovulation tests, I was most fertile between January 10 and 13. We've been having intercourse every other day. I don't know exactly when my ovulation was—I've never felt it or paid attention to it before. For the past 3 days, I've had some muscle-like pain at the bottom of my stomach. It's really uncomfortable when walking or sitting. Could I be pregnant? It's still too early to test.

    I have a similar question.

I had an early miscarriage (5 weeks) in early Jan, and according to the midwife, I could consider this bleeding as a period. I should have been ovulating these past few days, but the tests are negative. For the past two days, I've had sharp pain in my left ovary? At least around that area. What could this mean?

9 days before your due date, there's not even an implantation yet. No point worrying about it now. You can take the first test 7 days before your due date. And a faint line means pregnant. Even if it's as faint as it can possibly be... a line is ALWAYS pregnant. Whether you stay pregnant is a different matter. Especially with very early positive tests.

Well, since I have an irregular cycle, it's really hard to figure out what's going on. According to calculations, I should be getting my period in the first week of February, so if that doesn't happen, I'll take a test. If it's still negative, I'll get an injection to give my ovaries a boost and hope that things start to become more regular and clear up when my ovulation is.

    Hi!

Could someone give me some advice! I did 2 tests on Jan 20th (the top 2) and they were positive. On Jan 21st I did 1 test with a very faint line, and today I did another test (the bottom one) and there's nothing to see. Now I also have brown discharge for 4 days, what's going on? My GP says to wait a bit more, but I'm not really sure what to do with this!

Sorry, I can't add the photo!

You're talking about pregnancy tests, I assume. A faint line is a sign that you're pregnant. Your brownish bleeding could be implantation bleeding, or it's actually a semi-menstruation, but because you're pregnant, it doesn't fully come through.

Wouldn't you be pregnant by now otherwise?

Yeah, that can last for a few days as far as I know. Which test did you use then?
  10. An30 Guest #11

The one from Kruidvat! With the dropper.
    I'm just waiting it out!
    Thanks for the info.

Exciting! Let me know as soon as you have more clarity, okay?

    I'll do it!

@miertje13: Yeah, it started with muscle pain in my belly too. Like I did ab exercises all day long! So it could be a sign. Not sure when you can test again, but I hope it's good for you

@An30: Yeah, that'll probably be implantation... I had some brownish blood for 2 days, not a lot, but looking back it was implantation (I even thought it was a contact bleed).

Did a test this morning because I still have brown discharge, but there's absolutely nothing on the test now! So I think I was pregnant instead. Going to the GP on Monday to get it checked.

@ An. I don't know if the hormone levels in the urine are harder to detect due to turbidity, but it could indeed be true that a little embryo is being expelled too early. This happens very often in the early stages, often without women even realizing they were pregnant. It's not because of your abstinence, that's good. If that's the case, try to see it as your body functioning properly and shedding something that wasn't developing well.

Of course, I hope for you that the embryo is still there and continues to develop, but it did help me mentally prepare for the possibility that it wasn't going well and to take that into account.

It's good that you went to the doctor; that uncertainty is nothing to mess around with.

Today, five days before my expected period (so 1 day early for an "early" test), I did a test from Kruidvat. You know, one of those where a plus sign should appear. I used morning urine. After five minutes, nothing showed up, but when I checked again half an hour later, there was a faint plus sign visible. Could I be positive, or can you no longer trust the result after half an hour?

    Hi everyone,

I've been away from the forum for a while, but I took a test today and it showed a very faint line (Action brand test). What do you all think, pregnant or not?

I'm trying to upload a photo, but I keep getting a spam notification!
  18. Ilse #19

The faint line from the Action test could indeed be an early pregnancy, but it could also be an evaporation line. The faint plus sign from Anne Lien after half an hour was probably not a real positive result. Wait until your period is late and then test again with first morning urine. For peace of mind, it's best to see your GP or midwife.
