When to tell?

I'm 8.5 weeks pregnant now. We've already told our families and my partner's family, since it's close to Christmas and New Year's. The surprise would be biggest this way... and it would be too obvious if I suddenly stopped drinking.

When do you all tell people? Or have you already told them? I really want to tell my grandma, but she doesn't keep secrets, so if I do... the whole family will know... :-)

And I still don't know when to tell our best friends...

Just curious to hear your thoughts;-)

Close family and very good friends found out after the first test, at 3w5d. Very early, due to the journey we took to finally get pregnant, and everyone was aware of it and really supported us.
At work, I told them after the first ultrasound at 6w5d.
Other family, friends, and acquaintances found out after the third ultrasound, around 11 weeks!

We told our closest family right after the test, haha! I went to my mom with it because I wasn’t sure if I was reading it correctly!

We told our friends after 6-7 weeks because we had a party and it would’ve been super obvious if I wasn’t drinking.

We also told people so early because we were so excited and still are, of course, and both of us just can’t keep our mouths shut! Plus, it’s nice to have people who can support you if things go wrong.

    Love,

I think we're going to share the big news tomorrow with the family's biggest gossipers. My 92-year-old grandma... and my 91-year-old grandpa too. I'm curious how they'll react. And yeah... if things go wrong, they'll be there to support me... and I can already let my heart out since I'm so nauseous and tired :-)

I told my niece, uncle, aunt, mom, and dad right after the positive test.
The rest of the family we rarely see, I'll tell in 2 weeks.
    Greetings, Madelene

Have so much fun sharing! And it's indeed nice that you can then open up about all the little ailments
