Pregnant?

Hi, I'm Nikki and I'm 15. My boyfriend (we've been together for 7 months) and I had sex. I'm on the pill, but I really don't want to be pregnant! My mom says that's impossible. I'm stopping the pill now and going to see if I get my period. What would you do?

You're on the pill to avoid getting pregnant, but now you want to stop taking it to see if you're pregnant? That's really unwise; that's not how the pill works! Also, the pill isn't immediately effective again when you restart, and stopping only increases your chance of getting pregnant. If you haven't missed any pills, there's nothing to worry about. If you want extra peace of mind, use a condom in addition to the pill. My advice: take your pill regularly every month, don't miss any, use a condom during sex, and if you're really unsure, take a pregnancy test—but don't stop taking it!!
