Is mold bad for an unborn baby?

AnonymousGuest ·
Hi! I'm almost 11 weeks pregnant, but I'm living in a house full of mold. The landlord won't do anything about it, and we can't move out because he won't sign off on returning our security deposit, which is nearly 2000 euros. So I have to stay here for another 6 months anyway. My question is: is the mold only bad for me, or is it harmful to my baby too?

Best wishes

    Hi anon,

It depends on the mold, but mold is NEVER good for you! Especially during your pregnancy, you shouldn't put up with this.

Go straight to the municipality and involve a tenant association. They can guide you through this.

Alternatively, call legal assistance (or whatever it's called these days) and explain your problem.

Also file a police report. Even if it might not change anything, it shows your landlord that you won't be pushed around.

High chance he doesn't really want to deal with it and will just let you go.

    Elly
