baby care for crying babies

I’d definitely recommend getting a good baby wrap so you can have your hands free. I’d also suggest checking whether it could be reflux, cow’s milk allergy, or some other physical issue. Visiting an osteopath could also do no harm. How old is the little girl, actually? And how did the pregnancy and birth go?

    Thanks for your reply.
It's not my own baby, I just look after the girl here 3 to 4 days a week.
She's 4 months old. I already mentioned to the mother whether she might have reflux (the older sisters had that too), but nothing is being done about it. The birth went quite smoothly, I think, but I don't know much more about it.

    Love,

I read foster parent instead of babysitter. I already thought it was so special that you took in four children
How weird that those parents aren't doing anything about that reflux... easy for them to say. You could tell them that she needs to take action because otherwise it's not feasible for you? She won't be happy either when she suddenly has to arrange other childcare for four kids.

    Hi there,

My son has severe reflux, and honestly, I wouldn't send him to a babysitter either. It just wouldn't work. As you say, your role as a babysitter is to care for all the children, but as long as the little girl's problem isn't resolved, you can't do this properly. I think it's up to the parents themselves to first find out what's wrong with their girl before leaving her with you.

Especially if your son (which is naturally your priority) is affected, I wouldn't let this slide. It might be a pity to stop working as a babysitter, since you obviously didn't choose this lightly, but if no solution comes up, you might have to stop caring for that family. No matter how much you want to help them, the responsibility lies with them first.

I'd just be honest about this; you can always take care of the other 3 children.

    Best wishes

Totally agree... your own family comes first, and so do you, by the way
