Sounds like... a boy's name or a girl's name

Hi everyone,

My partner and I don't quite agree on the name Mente...
Does it sound like a girl's name or a boy's name to you?

    My first instinct was boy. But if I think about it, I think it could also be a girl. It sounds like Bente.

    To me, it sounds like a girl's name.

    As a girl's name. But if there's a lot of doubt, I wouldn't go for it—it's not nice for a child (or later adult) to always have confusion about her gender, e.g., when introducing herself on the phone or when her name is written somewhere.

    Mente is cute!
    I associate this with Jente... A boy!
    But maybe Jente is also unisex.. I don't know!
    If I think about it a bit longer, you can indeed go both ways with it... Mendel (boy)...

    Hmmm, I was hoping for more responses. Mente is a boy's name

    I think it could work for both, but it's really a Frisian boy's name. I haven't come up with a new name yet; Mente keeps popping into my head.

    I think Mente is a boy's name.
    It also reminds me of Benthe, which is a girl's name.

    Good luck with the difficult choice of a name.
