Trying to get pregnant

Agnes
Hi everyone,
We stopped the pill at the end of January.
I got my period right away, just like when I was on the pill, and my ovulation is also regular every month (confirmed with ovulation tests). We're in April now, but I'm still not pregnant. I'm having really bad stomach pain.
I wonder how that's possible :-(
Greetings!

Girl, no panic. This is only the fourth month without the pill. Usually, it takes up to 6 months after stopping the pill to get pregnant. Be patient, it will all work out. We ourselves were trying for the first three and a half years before I got pregnant, so just wait and be patient, and try not to make it an obsession. Good luck, girl!

    Hey Agnes,

We started trying to get pregnant in February-March, but so far no result. (Normally I should be getting my period next Wednesday)
I even started to panic and obsess over it.
I'm trying to put it out of my mind, and it's starting to work. Although it's damn hard!!
    Just have to be patient...

    Hi Jeanet,
You're right, you always have to be patient and then it'll come naturally.
But like I think everyone does, you really want it so badly;-)

    Hi Fatje,
So you've just started too, how nice!
    First baby?
It's not like we're obsessively focused on it, but we really want it.
I just had my ovulation, so it's exciting here too, haha

    Hey Agnes,

Yes, we've only just started too, but it feels like it's been forever for me... First baby.. You guys too? :-D
I can totally believe it's exciting, because it is!!!
Normally I should get my period on May 2nd, so it's getting closer :-)
Although I've got a bad feeling again... My breasts are sore again (and they were last month too :-(

Nice to know that you've just started too!! :-D

Of course, I understand that all too well, anonymous. I’ve been through it myself. But I’m also speaking from experience. We were obsessively focused on it for over three and a half years. In and out of the hospital, and almost nothing but having sex to get pregnant, with no result. Until we decided to take a break because we really wanted to renovate the house. And then I was promptly pregnant within three months. So I just want to point out that being too focused on it often has a counterproductive effect.

So relatable. It's true that being too involved can backfire, but that's also the hardest part to do

Exciting, so nice that you're going for the first one.

We've been trying since November and still nothing My cycle is still irregular and so is my ovulation. We've now been referred to the gynecologist, which was pretty quick, actually, but well, we'll see what happens. By the way, I had the Mirena IUD, and it slipped out in November.

    Hi Fatje,
for us too, it's the first baby so it's exciting :-)
and did you get your period or did it work out for you?
I should be finishing next week, I'm excited.
What's weird this time is that I'm so tearful, I really have mood swings, bah bah.

You're right about that, it's just so hard not to think about it. But I'm doing my best hahaha. And how many kids do you have?

That's frustrating, right, when it just won't work out. When do you have an appointment with the OB-GYN? And this is indeed very fast. Well, good luck:-(

On average, it takes a couple about half a year to get pregnant, so there's no need to worry. But it's naturally very frustrating when you really want to get pregnant and it doesn't happen right away. Don't lose hope (and the joy)!

Thanks Iza :-) We're definitely having fun hahaha

Why does one happen quickly and the other not? I don't think it's known. It took me 2 years to get pregnant; my cycle has always been regular and around 4 weeks. Be patient and enjoy those special moments .

I stopped the pill in early January and I'm still not pregnant...
I know you're not supposed to focus too much on it, but unconsciously you do, especially since I really want it...
I've already been to the gynecologist and everything was fine, so that's not the issue, thankfully!! I was on the pill for 16 years and had quite a few withdrawal symptoms (issues with my ovaries, mood swings, etc.). I got my period today, so unfortunately, no luck again....
