Hi ladies,

I'm new here and really struggling with myself, maybe you can help me out.

My Mirena fell out in November, and we decided to try for a baby. Once my gynecologist gave me the all-clear, we started trying. My cycle has still been irregular up until now, and so has my ovulation. However, the last two times I did get my period on day 32. Today is day 32; I had some bleeding last night, but nothing since then. I took a test this morning and it was negative. I called my GP this morning, and they referred me to the gynecologist because of my irregular cycles and longer periods.

I don't really feel like my period is coming, though I did feel it last night.

What should I do now???

Love!

    Hi dear Willemijn,

Sometimes your body does weird things when you're trying to get pregnant. Especially if your cycle is a bit off, you often don't know what's going on.

I hope you are pregnant, but such tests are usually quite accurate. It could be that your cycle was a bit longer and the test didn't pick it up yet, and that you had some implantation bleeding.

    Hi A,

    Thanks for your message.

I used to always be able to trust my body, but unfortunately not anymore since the Mirena. It makes me feel really insecure about it. In this cycle, I took an OPK test on day 16. So it's indeed possible that my cycle is a bit later. I also get sick, weak, and nauseous every time for two weeks after my ovulation. It's really unpleasant. It's not fun anymore.

If I don't have my period in a few days, I'll test again and just wait for my gynecologist.

    Love,

Hi Willemijn, really annoying indeed, but it can really take a long time before your cycle is completely normal again.

Testing again in a few days is indeed a good idea. Hey girl, you figured it out quickly at least. Either you get your period or not for 9 months :-)
