hematoma in the uterus

Hi ladies. I'm 11 weeks pregnant now and have a hematoma in my uterus. It's located just below the baby. I started losing a lot of blood at 8 weeks, so I went straight to the hospital for an ultrasound. The scan showed everything was fine with the baby! I didn't bleed for two weeks, and then the trouble started again. So far, I've had 5 ultrasounds, and the baby is doing well! Still, the fear of miscarriage is strong, even though my gynecologist is reassuring me. There's not much info online about hematomas, and opinions on bed rest are divided. I'm really curious if any of you have experienced this or gone through it.

I’ve had that too, multiple times, with bleeding until about week 16! After that, no more issues, and now I have a healthy little guy almost 2 years old! Don’t worry! Bed rest is very common in Belgium, not so much in the Netherlands... Listen to your body and take it easy.

    Hey Lisa
I'm now 11 weeks and also have a hematoma in the uterus. I had 3 weeks of non-stop bleeding, but it's been over for a week now. It's indeed very nerve-wracking, isn't it? Every OB-GYN looks at this differently. For me, it's complete bed rest! Since September 18th (we had a miscarriage before, so we're extra worried).
How are you doing in the meantime?
    Greetings

My hematoma unfortunately caused my membranes to rupture around 16 weeks, and our brave little boy was born at 24 weeks and passed away shortly after ????

Oh Lisa, that's gross. Did you guys manage to find a spot for it?

    It remains painful and difficult..

Can I just imagine what a shitty situation that must be. When did it happen, if I may ask :S

I also have a hematoma above the gestational sac. I'm 9 weeks pregnant now. I haven't had any bleeding yet; it was only discovered during the first ultrasound last week... so it's quite nerve-wracking too.

Seems like a big difference whether it's under or above the baby. Under the baby, it can pass through the uterus without harm, but above the baby seems really scary to me

So sad that you're going through this. With my first pregnancy, I also immediately thought the worst when there was an abnormality on the ultrasound, but often things turn out okay in the end. Marjolein, it's nerve-wracking that you only found out now; hopefully, things will continue calmly. Nijntje is right, the position seems important.
