Is Louell a girl's name?

We're the couple who named our son Louell (pronounced like "loewel".
The name comes from the female version; Louelle! This is a name of French origin. So Louell is a boy's name, not a girl's name! Do you all think differently about this?

Sorry, there's still a part of my message missing!
But I don't think this is a typical girl's name at all!!
It's just unisex, just like for example the name Robin.
If I had to choose, I'd even lean more towards male.

I do think Louell sounds more boyish and Louelle more girly...
You see this with several names...
    For example: Joël and Joëlle...
I think it's a lovely name, and what I really like is that it's not so common!

My daughter's name is Louell, so I think it's a fine unisex name.

I find it works as both a boy's name and a girl's name, so it's unisex. But it's a great name!

I also think Louell is a nice name. I get that Eileen sees it as unisex, but to me it really sounds like a girl's name. The sound with that 'ell' at the end doesn't quite fit a boy, I think. It's personal, but I'd mainly use it for a daughter.
