Truth or fiction? Boy or girl

With my oldest, I really only carried it forward, and it turned out to be a girl.
The second one was also more round in width, and this one is a boy.

So that doesn't really say anything, carrying forward or sideways..

In my opinion, it's just a myth. With my daughter, I carried her facing forward, and with my son, he goes in all directions No idea how I'm carrying him now, actually.

Beertje, how nice to see you here too, sitting in the same forum (January 2015)!

I thought so too I think it's a nice topic. I do like old beliefs/fables and nursery rhymes. The fun thing is that they sometimes actually come true.

    I'm curious haha

    This has been scientifically researched:
    - What others say is a myth (you really can't tell anything from the shape of your belly, etc.).
    - The mother's own 'gut feeling' does seem to have a small predictive value. I think it was something like 60:40 instead of the usual ratio of (approx.) 50:50. So female intuition does indeed have something here

Haha if I go through a list of midwife myths, the 'symptoms' are pretty much equal for boy/girl..
I carry quite high, I think, and it's a girl!!

My lower belly feeling was wrong too, by the way. I thought it was a boy but after 3 confirmations it's really a girl!

My gut feeling was right; it's a girl! I'm literally on a pink cloud right now, so wonderful!

My lower belly feels different. My husband thinks it's a girl. I'm really curious.

I had two boys in my first pregnancy and two girls in my second, so I never really knew or felt anything. I hoped I’d notice some sign, but unfortunately not.

I was really dizzy early on in my pregnancy. Not sure if that has anything to do with having a girl though. I think it’s more about how much hCG you produce.

But maybe not. So I can’t really help you, unfortunately. Just an interesting question! I wondered the same thing in both of my pregnancies.

    Greetings, Madelene

Oh, sorry for the unclear message, my phone was acting up.
Unfortunately, I can't help you. I asked myself the same thing during both my pregnancies and never could tell if I was pregnant with a girl. It's an interesting question though.
    Greetings, Madelene
